Everything in life has a natural rhythm, with a certain ebb and flow. I think we are just going through a low phase right now. Why? Could coincide with the start of the new year, new school semesters, stuff like that leading to people not having as much time for gaming. In a month or two things could have settled down and activity would pick back up. I bet if you plotted the percentages of matches completed for each period you would see patterns repeating every year.
Now that I think about it, other leagues always have seasons… you won’t play in a soccer league all year long… Maybe if it came to it you could just have the season end during the down times you identify from the patterns, and pick up again when things usually get busy again.
Having said all that, the least one can do is drop you a note if they know they are too busy. Time will weed out those who are not serious enough, or not courteous enough.
I think you misunderstood. But whatever. I was telling SAL not t be hard on you bcause you weren’t clear. And your English is sometimes confusing. But you try hard and usually convey what you mean. Just sometimes it’s not clear. No big deal playa.
Please understand that I wasn’t attacking DJC. I was annoyed by the fact that KURKIBA wouldn’t play or doesn’t want to play anymore. This league is completely voluntary. No one is forced to play. That being said, KUROKIBA is one of the senior members of the League and someone I’ve conversed with many times. I would appreciate him sending me a message somewhere that he doesn’t/can’t/won’t play anymore. That’s all I’m saying.
It saves me, DJC, and all other members the time from having to wait/contact/pester him to play his matches. It’s just a courtesy all would apprecaite, IMO.
I understand that. New members (those who have been in the league 3 weeks or less), I expect it from them. The older members (those that have & know how I and/or the league operate), I would expect them to let me know they are dropping out. Many have done so, and it makes for such an easy transition when they leave. Part of the reason I only send out 1 message to everyone letting them know the start of a new week is that I don’t want to constantly pester people to play. One message to begin, and only another one at the end to let you know the ‘decision’ for any unplayed matches. Possibly a third message with a ‘pink slip’.
That being said, with SSFIV coming out in April, the league could be huge again. Which is why I liked your idea of setting a smaller cap of members just for my sanity. But I could envision a waiting list that is as big if not bigger than the actual league.
Yeah but would a waiting list really be that bad of an idea??. I mean it must be better then constantly kicking people due to inactivity i think the main problem at the moment is that there are just too many people in the league especially when half of them are new people and tend to not play their matches. Think of it this way the league is nearly a year old now and the ranks still do not reflect the skill of the poeple correspnding to the position they hold.
I deffinatly think a smaller cap is the way to go it will make the league more competative a hell of alot easier for you sal if there is a waiting list so what atleast you will know if someone drops for whatever reason there will be someone on tap to replace them.
Being more strict with people could help too like if they give no reason for not paying there match then it is an auto kick. I know people are gona say they might not have time to send a msg saying why but i mean come on surely they have a couple of minits spare within the 12-14 days there match is open for to send a msg. To be honest there is no excuse not too i see it this way if you dont send your opponent or you sal a msg then they have no intention of sticking sround very long anyway so why should they deserve a chance?
Evedently not as there is still a problem with sal having to decide 2 weeks worth of matches for people that dont play. Like i said above if they send no reason why they dont play they have no intention of paying all there matches they will only play when it suits them. Just think it would make it easier thats all.
i think that 1 week without any notification is fine, hoenstly i think i am as busy as any other member in the league in my real life nad even when i have not played my matches with a few days left i can fine 5 mins to message SAL telling him when or where i can have my match with my opponents so i support ultrabison’s plea
on another note: My blanka defeated coded seth 2-0 straight sets that seth sure is hard to play against :annoy: but good games by code. (thus increasing my seed for the brawl)
If you make it 1 week and out, there will be no need for a cap. I can tell you that. And it makes it easier for SAL I guess. But it seems harsh to have a 1 strike rule. But whatever. If you made it a ladder system then it wouldn’t matter too much. Only the people that played would earn points and “climb the ladder”. Then it wouldn’t matter if they missed a match. Of course they would have to schedule their own matches, too. Then SAL could still have league tournaments that you could earn bonus points and whatnot.
This just proves how new you are to the league if you bothered to read my other posts you would see that anything i have said was intended to help the league run smoother while making it more fun for everyone else (including SAL) so please dont accuse me of complaining as that is something i never do. I do think the ladder idea could be good but i think it may be hard now to make the transition. But saying that SSF4 is just around the corner and if the league is still around who knows.
I was meaning as regards to the league and i wasnt complaining about mag i was simply giving my opinion about it thats all. But anyway im not gona get into a stupid argument end of.
