In all fairness you do run the league so it is up to you half the time it isnt a case of they cant remember i meaqn how hard is it to remember to play 2 matches they have over a week to do it. Most of the time they are even online at the sametime as their opponent and even playing sf4 but refuse to reply to messages or fight requests the way i see it is you have enough trouble sorting all this out as you do it on your own so why make it harder by giving people who just cant be arsed to play chance after chance. It isnt as if they cant send you or their opponent a msg if they cant play the match for whatever reason.

Just to confirm…did you lose your GOUKEN vs. Meieden SAKURA match?
FYI -
The one place where I might need some help is a ‘Special Events Coordinator’ type person. My schedule is limited on any given day, so I can’t get online as much as I would like to. Because of that, we haven’t had anymore Official Special Events, like another 2v2 Tournament. If anyone is interested in that role with the SFCCL, let me know. All that is required is that you run a Special Event once every other month at most. I would give you all the instructions for the event & then you would basically run the event in my abscence. Then, report back to me the results. Just requires some free time, which is more than I have unfortuantely.
Sorry, no pay involved. Just the sense of satisfaction of a job well done along with the pleasure of dealing with some difficult people! To quote one of my favorite shows:

Seems like you have a large amount of members now and it would be unlikely there would be an odd amount of matches required.
Yep i got my butt kicked i will find a secondary i can use lol. I would be more then willing to help with the special events but unfortunatly since im in the uk i cant see me being online at the same time as many other peeps. Plus i wont have anywhere near enough ppl on my frend list 
I was thinking the same as eltwopee it would make it alot easier for you plus everyone would be fighting for the number one spot. PLus you could have a grand champ that can be challenged when the no1 champ holds onto the title for soo many weeks. Not that the current method isnt good mind just an idea.

Well it would be 50/50 chance of having odd number of people until the league filled up. But sAL could just only add new members in pairs until then. Once we were up to 96 the chance goes way down. But the way it is now there are still basically bye weeks when there are mirror matches so it doesn’t really solve the issue.
I would vote for 1 character and 1 ladder, but I don’t have a second character so I’m biased.

That was part of the original discussion when the League first started up. Two other original members wanted a similar system. My original idea for the League came from the system I use to play in with my friends & family back in the days of Super SF2. Then, it was only a couple of us so we came up with a draft, assigned fighters, and the current ranking system. We each used 2 or 3 fighters each as to be sure all fighters were represented. Anybody ever play a bunch of matches with a fighter you have no idea how to use?? LOL Dhalsim took a lot of beatings then as no one wanted or knew how to play him!
2 things I don’t like about the above described systems.

First, one long ladder-ranking system would be very daunting & intimidating for new members joining at the bottom of the list. The very best players would rise to the top, but those intermediate & beginning players would get lost in the shuffle of a long, never-ending list. The Divisions were created to help mediate this problem. Sure, it will still take any new member a couple of months to get to the Gold division, but the rise through the divisions & rankings gives everyone short-term goals and accomplishments. In a perfect system where no one drops out & everyone plays their matches, the divisions also act as a ‘net’ to collect same-skilled players/fighters in each division, from the best in the Gold Division to the intermediates in the mid-divisions to the novice players in the bottom divisions. Every player & fighter would then be among their same-skilled peers which will create great matchups & challenges forcing everyone to play better until they find the perfect division for them. With the 4-Title Defense provision and Inter-Divisional matches, the system would still allow players the opportunity to earn a shot at a new, tougher division as their skills grow. That is the overall idea, at least.[/LIST]
[LIST]Second, the 1-fighter system was also a consideration. The obvious drawback is that if we could easily have an odd number of members any given week, thus, leaving someone without a match. Also, why would anyone fight with any character that IS NOT their best fighter? How many Ryus do we want to see? Sagats? Kens? There is no way to limit how many Ken/Ryu/Sagat players we would have if we only used 1-fighter. Also, the system would resemble a more player-ranked system versus a fighter-ranked system. Meaning, in the original system from my SUPER SF2 days, the system was designed to resemble a boxing/wrestling ranking where there is champion and a clear #1 contender. Everyone is fighting to take down the champion, and the best gets his/her shot. With a fighter-based system, it allows members to create a rep with a specific character & gives everyone else a shot at them. I’ve thought about going to a 1-fighter system with the League growing so much as it would make it easier for everyone (especially for me), but I never wanted this League to be just another player-ranked league. I, personally, have no interest in that kind of leaderboard. I wanted the League to be something different with lots of options and variety. I think we’ve accomplished that.[/LIST]
Again, nothing wrong with those ideas, but not what I envisioned for the League. All these ideas were part of the original conversation when creating the League, but led to nothing but more disagreements about the League that nearly killed the thing before it ever got going. Little bit of trivia…the original name for the league was the Street Fighter League (SFL). When the process broke down into a bickering, childish *“my idea is better…your idea stinks” * discussion with no leadership, I bid the others farewell, wished them good luck & struck out on my own with my original idea & created the SFCCL. Even before then, I suggessted we create a community & offer several different types of systems for members to choose from. That idea was shot down too.
In the end, I’m happy the way things turned out. It’s been a blast so far!
