I’m not sure there’s much to gleam from my Kage. I have practice nothing and am just imitating what I had seen from others, sometimes effectively, sometimes poorly. Namely, my timing on crushing delay tech is garbage.

You are welcome to play with us any time. i’m not the worlds best/most knowledgeable SFV player, but I know my fight games pretty well in general, and can offer what advice I can.

The general idea is that once you find their CFN, getting the replay works the same as getting one of your own replays. You shouldn’t have much trouble with it.

All the stats, % and replays you have available to you is underrated part of SFV.

You can even compare profile stats down to the percentage of each normal, special moves for each character.

I don’t feel JFTs the hardest part of Karin at all (granted, they’re not easy). Her 1-hit confirms are.

You can substitute JFT with other specials for her most of the time even though it’s suboptimal, but if you’re able to hitconfirm c.MK, it’s a lot easier to defend against her.

Old Zeku is the slower, beefier hitting form with good air control and air approach. So the main tradeoff for all of the denial/oppressive tools he gets access to is way less mobility in other areas - walk/dash. He’s a hunker down brawler.

Young Zeku is the faster, more ground rushdown oriented character. He trades infallible anti-air and air approach options for much quicker walkspeed, a better dash and a fast ground approach/punishment tool. His AA issue isn’t an issue, it’s literally intended.

Cr.hp/st.mk/st.lp/LP.Hozanto cover all angles regardless, at least the character has no AA deadzone. You just need to be good.

They both have their niche. If you want a character with no designed weaknesses just pick Rashid tbh.

There’s a deadzone on YZ head area, his AA are mostly situational and average. Giving OZ buffs and YZ nerfs is Capcom answer to keep the character balanced, the point is players will keep using the latter form the most since OZ still looks in the wrong game. With that in mind the nerfs on YZ normals/ground approach seems pointless considering he doesn’t get help at least at AA, V-Skill 2 didn’t give him nothing consistent to be overall satisfied with the rebalance. My 2 cents.

Infexious is well known for using YZ most of the time, OZ setplay and neutral ain’t going to change tbh. YZ st.lk nerf>>>>> OZ cr.mk buff, I’m not sold on OZ getting stronger after this patch, not to the point of using him more over YZ form.

Thanks, yeah, I’ve been off of the game for a bit. Ever since S5 dropped, I was labbing like 4 different characters, and then got the Switch for Christmas which completely threw me off, lol. I’m still playing BOTW but want to get back into SFV, and am going to stick with Kage. I played him the most in S4 and he got most of the buffs I wanted and I just need to stick with someone and actually learn how to play this damn game.

I’m not really going to watch your guys matches to get tech per-se, I’m more curious to see both of your styles and see which I like more and try to take some notes about how I should handle matches.

Anyways, yeah, I’ll be down for some matches soon.
