Guy who won BOTS3 had no fast fly combos, little amlunt of infinites, dropped hella combos, but kept his gameplan super simple and his defense tight.
So anybody saying you need a crazy amount of execution to get started in MvC2 or to do well is messing with you.
Keeping life safe and simple is the way to go, even in MvC2.

When Sentinel kills is Rocket Punch on the next incoming character unblockable? I saw a lot of people get hit by that. @Pertho

Not the rocket punch. Crouching mouth laser is though but its hard to time. There is a certain frame where the attack is there but doesn’t register as being there. You can do cr.hp xx rocket punch so the unblockable leads into a combo. May be that you missed the mouth lasers hitting because its going to do super late.
I’d have to see the game where people got straight out hit by raw rocket punch on incoming to tell you know what may have been happening. Sometimes people take the hit on incoming to mess up guard break set ups on unsuspecting people. With Magneto, you can choose not to block and if they aren’t paying attention, they wont’ convert on the guardbreak because you’ll move differently when hit.
You can also be hit while you’re still offscreen for a little bit. Iron Man has both a guardbreak and an unblockable on incoming. When he does j. up HP in the corner, if you time it right it creates a disjointed hitbox that characters can’t block. But if you mess it up you still get a chance for the guardbreak.

You need crazy dexterity though which is part of execution

Thanks for the info.
Clutching at straws, but I know I happened last night when Yipes was streaming.
I can’t give a specific time though, as I can’t scroll through the video.

Ehhhhhhhhh, I don’t think Karin and Mika VS2s are that bad.
Akuma’s is probably the worst imo. Ryu’s is pretty bad, but Akuma needs to hit at least a fireball with his to get any significant V-Gauge without needing to DBZ it for 5 minutes.

Akumas nowhere near bad lmao, you boys are forgetting the nigh useless parries that offer literally nothing, not even VTC functionality

You should probably look into what these vskills offer before making the judgement. Like take a moment to look at mika’s parry functionality.

I actually did. One of the first things I did when the patch dropped.
It’s a 3f counter, right? Like, ok, that’s not really mindblowing, but it’s a nice defensive tool for a character that didn’t really have one and VS1 was one of the absolute worst VSs in the game.
Even looking at it in a vacuum because we’re only talking about the new ones, it’s not really what I’d call the worst VS2 in the game.
Sure, I’m probably talking out of my ass again, but I don’t see how it’s worse than Akuma’s VS2.
Akuma’s vs2 can offer a bit more than mika’s very situational counter.

Akuma’s has a giant AA hitbox, gives him new combo routes, new midscreen oki. Also just VT gauge farming tool in fireball wars.
It’s just not used because Akuma VS1 is top 5 in the game. It’s a good VS though.
Hey guys did DBFz gets it’s own arcade relaese in japan?
Definitely not. Only arcade cabs there are for the game were custom made. In general it feels like ArcSys are slowly moving away from the platform

Who wants to play for a bit?
No one in the Akuma discord think it’s a good OKI. I’m probably the 2nd most positive about this V Skill out of the whole lot, but it’s mostly because I find it fun, not because I think it’s good in anyway. Some points
-Yes it can AA, but you have to be psychic to use this. I mean you literally have to get it going before your opponent hits the peak of their jump.
-It can be effective if your opponent only throws slow fireballs. Once they amp it up, it’s too hard to use against fast ones since the move has tons of start up
-Useless in block strings. It’s -13 on block and there is no frame trap by canceling into red fireball since that has like a 10f gap or something like that.
-Charging it up for free VT would be nice, except your opponent has to leave you alone for 2-3 seconds at a time to get any decent amount.
-There is no OKI from back rise after he does the pound into red fireball and whatever OKI he gets is far worse than what he gets with VS1 with less damage as well.
So what’s good about it? This VS gives him his max damage combos in the corner, that’s about it. I actually like the idea of this V Skill but Capcom made this way too hard to use. The only match up I will use this for is against Menat. I can deflect her orb and build VT. Outside of that I’m not touching it unless I’m screwing around in casuals.
