Any ArcSys workers here?
No but my step uncle works at SnK and confirmed SF6 for 2018
Is Gorilla in there?
Not tonight, was only on for a bit. Will be around a bit tomorrow and trying to be on more in general now so we can throw hands again.
I ran into a Sakura in one of those sets. They made the mistake of trying to zone. If they just would have rushed me I probably would have died. Joke was on them.
Sakura’s buttons wiff just as much up close as they do fullscreen.
Ended up having to connentate on my weekly today.
Had I knew that it would happen, I would have worn a dress with less cleavage and a bra… x.x
Not quite as much with all these whip hitboxes.
They had one moment with st.LK that I thought might have led to a shift but they were dead set on playing lady Ryu.
Not for nothing but…
Where the stream archive at?
Edit: its jokes btw. Gotta put this disclaimer so we dont grt any confusion over something silly.
So, I’m going to watch Rise of Skywalker tomorrow, and before that I decided to watch The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi to catch up with it.
I already watched The Force Awakens when it came out and my opinion of it hasn’t changed: it’s a fun movie, a nice way to start off a new trilogy. Its biggest sins in my opinion are too much reliance on nostalgia (which is understandable for the movie that was supposed to set off the “return or Star Wars”) and that they blew their load too soon with the Starkiller Base, it was a cool superweapon and a natural escalation from the Death Star but I feel like they used it too soon in the trilogy.
This was actually the first time I watched The Last Jedi though, and I was curious because I heard a lot of people talking mad shit about it, so…
I liked it. Maybe it’s because I just watched but I feel like it’s actually better than TFA. It was actually really fun to watch because after the first half I was constantly waiting for the moment the movie was supposed to turn suddenly bad and it ended up leaving me on the edge during a lot of action scenes.
It’s definitely not without flaws, but overall I thought they didn’t impact the overall experience too much.
Thoughts on The Last Jedi
The Last Jedi felt pretty fast paced, in a good way. It felt like the movie was mimicking Empire Strikes Back for a bunch of things but with a personal spin, which makes it more original compared to TFA in my opinion.
Some of the weak parts in my opinion were the casino part which came kinda out of nowhere and I guess the whole thing going with Purple Hair Lady.
For the casino part it’s actually a pretty typical Star Wars thing: showing off an exotic location full of weird aliens like the bar in Episode IV, but it felt strange how the characters suddenly went on a trip to a completely different place while the Rebel fleet was slowly being chased and bombarded by the Space Nazis, even if it’s kinda justified. Still nothing big enough to ruin the movie though.
The thing with Purple Hair Lady instead is the thing where they first make you believe she’s an asshat that’s dooming the Rebel fleet, so Pilot Guy comes up with a plan to save the fleet and take control from her, but then the movie subverts your expectations and it turns out that Purple Hair Lady is cool and she’s just executing Leia’s plan and it was all just a stupid misunderstanding between her and Pilot Guy, and then it’s actually Pilot Guy’s plan that ends up allowing the Space Nazis to learn about the transports fleeing the main Rebel ship. I think that subplot was kind of weak and it wasn’t really worth the time of subverting my expectations, at the same time it wasn’t too bad either, so…
I thought the part after that when Purple Hair Lady goes Kamikaze to save the transports was actually pretty cool, so I actually ended up liking her character by the end of the movie, even though she had a very minor role actually when you think about it.
I have somewhat mixed thoughts on Luke’s death: the part where he confronts Kylo Ren was pretty good in my opinion, at that point I was expecting him to die a la Ben Kenobi and sacrifice himself fighting Kylo Ren, but then it turned out it was just a mental projection of him (since, I guess, the real Luke had no actual way of getting on that planet anyway) and I thought that was a pretty fun twist. Then Luke dies anyway because of the fatigue of doing that Jedi trick.
On one hand that death looked a little lame, on the other hand the idea that Luke was going to sacrifice himself in one way or another was pretty likely at that point and the scenes before that were really cool, so… Mixed feelings from me.
Aside from that I liked the action, I liked how they evolved Kylo Ren’s character, I liked Rey’s training under Luke even though it was pretty cliché (it’s Star Wars though, what do you expect?), Rey herself is just doing the main character’s thing but she still got a very nice design on her and she’s hot like in the first movie so that’s great, and even though I thought I was going to hate on Snoke’s death (online spoilers ensured that I thought almost all of the cast was going to die, even those that survived), I actually ended up liking the scenes leading up to his death and how Kylo quickly took over his place after thoroughly ass-whipping and bitch-slapping the Ginger Nazi Guy.
Also, Snoke’s throne room is sex. It’s so fucking cool, it can’t be too bad to die in a place as stylish as that.
Overall, if you go in expecting a typical Star Wars movie I thought The Last Jedi was a pretty good Star Wars movie. I can imagine what people are hating about this movie, but I can’t say I share it at all.
I’m hearing even worse things about Rise of Skywalker though.
If what I heard in particular is true I have a feeling I may not end up liking it a lot.
Cleavage is a demonstration and a symbol of raw power and a tool to intimidate your enemies into submission. You have nothing to worry about!
Personally, I thought ROS was the best movie of the trilogy, but my movie picks are not typically the popular ones
Oni officially better in Teppen than he ever was in SF4.
In the reveal trailer, it also looked like Seth cancelled his st.MK into stolen Abigail Punch, but I don’t know if it’s naturally cancellable (as he can do that off all his specials) or if he can only do it with VS1, almost like a mini V trigger cancel.
I just watched Cats. Don’t make the mistake I made.
You are far too forgiving. I envy your capacity for mercy in this case.
For me, the sequel trilogy was a shattering experience. Destroyed all hope and faith in Hollywood/Disney once and for all. I have never recovered as a movie goer from TLJ.
ROS was slightly better in one way, but an utter defilement in another. It was just sad. The whole experience was sobering and sad to me.
Shame
On
Them.
4ever.
I bet it was FUCKING HYPE.
Wanna see it but my wife didnt want to go. Now I dont want to watch it by myself.
Technically… It is for nothing.
Went to take a look at Poison’s St. MK hitbox since someone said Seth’s St. MK is a long-range cancelable button like it. I have no idea of it’s range and don’t feel like booting up the game for that.
Akhos didn’t have her hitboxes tho…
Checked Ryu’s just for curiosity.
I have to say, that’s that good shit. Remember when the hitbox only went up to his pants in S1?
Also noticed a ridiculous amount of disjoints and Cr. HP being ass. Also, pretty sure they nerfed Axe Kick’s upward hitbox, but can’t be arsed to check. It would explain how easily I was getting stuffed using it as an AA the last time I played.
What is it that you didn’t like in TLJ? I ask because I’m only a very casual fan of Star Wars, but I love talking shit and I went in watching TLJ looking for the stuff that people hated and ended up finding nothing I felt was really too bad.
