If you’re looking the bump maps then yes the COS(AGL_01.cos.emz) file is the correct choice. If you’re looking for the color textures, you’ll need to open the COL (AGL_01_01.col.emz)

Yes that much i understand, same as skins, if they don’t have the same mod, they see the original stuff.

This being said, is anyone working on this? I really like Gouken’s move list, but i seriously hate playing as old geezers, plus i think Ryu should be quite a nice fit for his moveset.

Quick request, could anyone send me Dan’s and Sakura’s col.emz files? Oly sent me Dan’s, but they had a weird blue tint :confused:

I’d say the best way to find more Gen skins is to start working on them yourself :wink:

It’s really easy to get started and utilizes 100% free software (if you use GIMP instead of photoshop, which I and many others here appear to). It’s also really personally rewarding to see your own creation kicking ass onscreen…

If it’s cool with you, over the next couple of days I’ll slowly create blank pages named for each of the characters to eventually transition to a single-character-per-page setup. I don’t think that system is really necessary at the moment, but it’ll probably be necessary before long…

I won’t put any links to the pages anywhere or copy any content for the time being, as that would probably just complicate things. They’ll just be placeholders for when/if they’re needed.

what file format do you want them in? can you open and edit .dds? I’ll post the primary costumes as soon as you let me know the format also when your done send them to me and i can compile them in a .emz

First post, first SF4 skin mod, so be gentle: I just figured out the process and am testing the waters with a mod of Fei Long as comic book hero Madman, mostly because the costume’s pretty simple.

Still have several kinks to work out, but the big problem is that the Feil Long model has two layers of hair, one below the other. I’ve painted the lower layer white to match the rest of the costume, but it just looks like white hair - so I’m thinking that making it entirely transparent might help. Looking back through the posts to try to figure out the alpha thing now… any tips? is this even possible for what I’m trying to do?

go to channels and you see the alpha channel there, check it and paint over the thing you want to be hidden(alpha channel will be tinted red), try it out it might work

I haven’t actually done any of this, so take my information with a grain of salt until/unless someone with more experience can verify or correct it:

From what I can tell, you have to hex-edit a file, either the *.cos.emz file–which affects all of the colors–or a *.col.emz file–which affects only that single color. I think the *.cos.emz method is supposed to be easier/simpler, but the *.col.emz method is more flexible (is that the right word?) overall and it doesn’t ruin all of your other skins.

However, there’s a possibility that transparency won’t work for this. It might make his entire head of hair transparent instead of just the bottom… If that’s the case, don’t let it discourage you. I think its totally acceptable as it is now. He’s still very recognizable.

did you try using the SF4_Model Enable State Tool from the first page to get rid of extra hair?
