In fact it’s so good that I plan to completely replace Zangief in my SF4 PC-version with Haggar (incl. name displayed and portrait).

That Haggar is truly amazing. It looks like you’re using another program for model editing other than Misfit…? Would you mind giving us a rundown on what program(s) you’re working with there?

I used SoftImage (XSI) for the model tweaks.
Zbrush for the Sculpting.
Photoshop for the texture work.
And of course all the specialty programs like piecemonteeSF4explorer, dragon packer, etc… to get the files from SF4.
Kraga Phan is one of the darn best modders on this thread. you really go the extra mile.

I dont see whynot, Capcom would only gain from this as the work done here just further sells the game. I cant see them going out of their way to change this advantage.
I’m wondering, theoretically, how much modding can you do with these, I mean as far as altering the frames? Could someone, for example, stretch out Blanka’s face to make Talbain’s muzzle, and give him wolf ears? Or maybe turn Zangeif into Leo from Red Earth? Not saying someone should, it would be a lot of work to do, but would something more extreme be possible?

you can make them as extreme as you want, so long as you don’t add or remove any vertices. I’ve seen a couple of werewolf mods for Blanka (I think one is on the wiki) where they gave him a snout, so there are definitely some possibilities.
I think a major limiting factor is using Misfit3D for model-editing. Based on Kraga Phan’s results, I would say much more complex and high-quality work is possible using pro-focused tools like SoftImage and ZBrush.
