I have a question about Specularity (shine on materials). I’ve been working on Yuri Sakazaki mod for Sakura and I’ve ran into a problem with where the specularity shows up on my character. The legs work great. The shine is exactly as it should but the crop top and the bloomer section of the original model will not react correctly the light. Its like as if the “material” is different for the different sections. If been digging around in the .col file with a HEX editor but I really have no clue what I’m looking for…I’m sure there is a switch of sorts that turns the shiny property on.

I ran into this problem several times.
I think the minimum and maximum specularity intensity for the bodyparts is set via hex values in the model or skin file while the specularity map in the alpha channel of the normalmap only controls the intensity in these set parameters.
Since the panties are made of fabric the maximal specularity is way lower than it is on the skin.
Im afraid Im not a coder though so I couldnt figure out where exactly this can be done…maybe youre more lucky than me.
That sounded mighty complicated but judging from your portfolio you know what Im talking about. :bgrin:

If you download those songs from the links on the wiki, you can just rename them to what you want to replace. They are already prepared in the SF4 music format, so just move them where you want them.
@Kraga Phan
that mod is looking fantastic so far. Unfortunately, I don’t think anyone has been able to affect the specularity to that extent and most people have just faked it using the DDS textures (by painting on highlights).
She is looking sweet! just need a pic of her standing to see the whole outfit, But maybe some sexy stocking to a garter belt or at least showing that hes got one. just a idea.
@AnimeNeko
In that case, you can convert them yourself following the music modding tutorial (it’s actually much easier than model editing and skinning; you just follow the process).
Technical issues notwithstanding, that Yuri mod is looking wicked! I wasn’t really aware that you could alter specularity/specularity maps at all - how is that done? Can it be done individually for COL files or does it affect every colour for a given costume?
