yeah you use offzip to unzip the emz then dragon unpacker to rip the dds, I don’t recommend using asset exploxer because there are alot of files and it isn’t best tool for that, what error are you running into?

this is what i put in offzip (offzip.exe -m 16 -a -z -15 SGT.vfx.emz new 0
offzip error is

0x001e0b8f .

zlib z_data_error, the data in the file is not in zip fomat or uses a different windowbit value (-z). try to use -z 15

i get this error in dragon unp.

offzip gave you a dat right? offzip gives that message but the unzipping still has worked. You are using hyperripper right?

yeah it gives me alot of dat files. so basically i have to go thru all the dat files? i thought i was just doing something wrong because it gave me like 400 dat files. and yes im using hyperripper.

the file is already unzipped somehow, try renaming it SGT.VFX.dat and see it you can get the dds out of it with hyperripper

renaming it help. thanks alot !!! so if i wanted to edit stages would i go about doing the same thing? just renaming it too? and thanks again.

one last thing yoshi do we have to use hue. can i just use layers in paintshop . and do i save it as alpha 1 or 0. cause it has alpha 1 in it.

not exactly try offziping the files first, if you get the error where you get multiple dats then its already unzipping you can just rename at that point.

if it has a alpha channel preserve it by saving with 1 bit alpha it its a dtx 1, some are dtx 5 so save those as dtx 5. you don’t have to use hue but i find it much easier and faster

your not saving it correctly, you have to make sure to save dtx1 files as dtx 1 and dtx 5 files as dtx 5, one mistake will crash the game because the file size isn’t right, that is problem with editting vfx and stages there is so many files to edit that if you mess up one its hard to find the problem.

i’m trying to change some of the characters pictures but this is what i get when i save them,does some1 has any idea what i’m doing wrong, maybe u tundra since u made recently the sean and charlie ones!?!
