hey im getting a problem trying my latest skin + model edit of crimson viper…
I cant inject a replacement skin because the filesizes of one of the .dds files dont match, but for some reason even when i make no edits at all to a skin and save it, photoshop (using nvidiva tool) doubles the filesize for no apparent reason (171 kb to 342 kb) even when i make no edits to it. anyone run into this problem and find a fix for it? im planning for the mod to be awesome, i must have edited like 5 models and a near complete reskin but cant get around this last troublesome thing.
This looks to me like a DXT problem.
Does your file had an alpha layer? If not it was in DXT1 and you may have saved it in DXT5 (that double the size of file)
If you want to edit a DXT1 to add an alpha layer, try saving it in DXT1 1bit alpha for full transparency.
For semi-transparency, you’ll have to save it in DXT5 but you’ll have to make your file size the same as DXT1 by losing some quality on your textures.
Some characters like Sakura have some dds in DXT5 and others in DXT1, you have to pay attention to that.
http://developer.nvidia.com/object/windows_texture_viewer.html is of great help, it shows you the DXT of dds

Well i made another Sakura, this time on the cos_01.
I actually took the mod that this chinese dude made and corrected the headband cuz it was bugging with the hair going into it, i also made the clothes shorter.
Tell me whatcha think about it! =)

I would try that but only the shoes and the tattoo on the arm would be easy… the rest of the clothes wouldn’t look like those from Faith, i dunno how to make the pants and the same shirt! D:
