Noah here. I’m pretty pissed I had to leave. A friend of mine had a graduation party that i couldn’t miss and has to drop out of singles early. Still happy about getting 5th in doubles. Sim and Bison make a fucking insane team. Big ups to all those involved, I had a lot of fun. And fuck your Bison Marcus. Fuck him hard.
lol, I just realized I got 5th in KOF cus of a bye
Nice games to everyone, sorry for the piss poor performance (I suppose 17th ain’t bad for never using the ps3 controller).
I’ll have to invest in a fightpad for ps3 as it’s only 40 bucks, then i’ll never be shorthanded again.
Lol at the fucking boxer cleanup, I can’t wait to meet up with you guys again and get some matches with you.
Great meeting a ton of new people (especially G2, we’ll do much better next time I promise…and even though Sagat is your main, you really should stick with cammy, you play her REALLY well).
I had a great time…thanks again J-Money for hosting the tourney…it was really well done!
17, 7, 7, 7, 3, 2 (I didn’t play SFIV singles, so the 49 is kinda irrelevant)
30, 26, 13, 10, 10, 8
average ranking vs average entry in 6 tournaments:
7.17 / 16.17
56% Success Rate
You can figure this out for yourself, too!
[My apologies to the mathematically inclined. I’m not trying to insult your intelligence, just trying to help out others who are obsessed with statistics.]
Just add your positions from each tourney you entered together.
Then, add the total number of entrants for said tourneys.
Divide each of those by the number of tournaments you entered.
First number is your average ranking, and second is the average number of people entered in your tourneys.
So, my average rank in a tourney is 7.17 with an average entry of 16.17.
Then, divide the first number by the second, and you’ll get a decimal. Subtract that number from 1.00 and consider your answer as a percentage. For example,
after dividing 7.17 by 16.17, you get 0.44. Subtracting that from 1.00 gives you 0.56.
Therefore, my success percentage in Fight It Out… AGAIN was 56%.
You can consider that number to be whatever you want. I say it’s a good indicator of your success in a tournament. It should correlate somewhat closely with the percentage of fights that you won, but it’s off in my case because of byes I received. Actually, I probably won slightly less than half of my tourney fights. It’s not an EXACT science, but it’s not bad.
One last note, This shows the percentage UNDER you. For example, say I placed first in a tourney with 50 entrants. The method I gave would put my success percentage at 98% rather than one hundred. This is because I BEAT 98% of the entrants. I can’t beat 100%, because I have to consider myself as one of them. Therefore, I represent the top 2%.
TL:DR version
I was bored and came up with a way to rank myself for tourneys and decided to share with you all.
ggs everyone fun tourny thanks j-money and co for hosting!
whoo whoo!.. amn i just woke up… i hadda drive for an acumulated 6 hours to get to Fight It Out 2… and it was easily worth it… it was the my first big(ish) tourney and it was hella fun… josh thanx so much for giving me and J a lift… i cant see how my name kept getting read wrong… it’s G.Sqaured… y’know G to the power of 2?.. but luckily my XBL buddy G2 was attending so we ended up finding eachother when our anmes kept getting mixed up
my doubles partner was using my mainstay Chun so i hadda move up to my Sagat… and i eventually learned to handle a PS3 controller with just a few casual matches… but in the end me and clayton got taken out by Noah’s beastly Dahlsim… but wat was cool is that l;ater i totally beat Noah’s sim with my Cammy so i made peace with my doubles standing
i pulled some major wins outta my back pocket in the singles tourney… for some reason nobody could handle my Cammy effectively… which is wierd… i even had to use her to beat my doubles partner clayton… then i got sent to the loser’s braket by a domingo’s jab happy ryu… but i still got to the quarter finals braket in the loser’s column…
then i had to fight J-Money… dude!.. i totally had you… you took out my chun pretty effectively but when i switched to cammy and started to hammer down on you… man!.. i thought i was gonna win… then one mistake and i ate rog’s ultra in the corner… GG J-munny i’ll get cha next time… but 9th place isn’t too bad for me (Gregg Washington)… but i hate the fact that the top 8 players went: Boxer, Boxer, Boxer, Boxer, Boxer, Boxer, Dictator, Ryu ----> Cammy (me!)
but all in all i got to test my skills… and i’m happy with the results… :karate: i took out the rose player who basically shamwowed everyone in attendance… i beat Noah’s sim after his team knocked out my team… i taught the other 2 cammy players there how to handle turtlers (like j munny)… i beat the c.viper who was on Floe’s doubles team… i went round for round with i love hentai using my sagat… i got flatout burned in the few MvC2 games i played… and to top it all off i went to DQ… 3 times… it was a fun ass tourney… i gotta go to events like this much more often, i had an indescribable amount of fun… :wgrin:
oh yeah, i got a few good pics before my camera died… a couple vids too… but i can’t post em til later…
Tournament was great. Very well run. Props to the organizers.
I didn’t play any casuals, but it was good to see all of you guys.
Ari: Good stuff, per usual. I’m happy you chose to use Balrog at the tournament. Glad I got to see it in action! Your match vs Spriggan was HYPE.
Humbag: I’m stealing your **Keno Eye ** at the next tournament.
Asian Dan: It’s too bad you had to jet early. I think you could have placed higher if you didnt have any time constraints. I’ll hit you up on XBL.
J-Money: Good shit getting 4th! Make sure Balrog owns the top 4!
BOXXXERRR
Good job man.
Of course I do have to laugh at the whole “Boxer Fighter 4” you guys have going on there lol. I wonder if Boxer is any good…
Thanks hehe.
I think it was Eric who told Ari to use Balrog.
JAB JAB THROW.
Im just glad I at least won a few against you Ari in the GFs (even though I probably wouldnt have won any vs Sagat lol).
This tournament just showed that people, still, do not know how to fight against balrog well.
yeah no shit dude, it’s good to see a zangief player every now and then that isn’t spamming lariats 24/7 and can actually think their way though the match instead of RAWR SPD RAWR LARIAT
if you would have noticed that headbutt beating my wakeup devil reverses a bit earlier, I think the results would have been different. but also remember that I could have ex stomped on wakeup instead, I think that may beat headbutt clean but I haven’t tried.
definitely looking forward to more games man, if you have 360 feel free to add me on there. no ps3 for me -_-
That was a fun tourney. Seeing some of my old boys again and testing out my fire for battle was something I needed. I should’ve done better, but the hunger set in on me, and I was fighting sloppy. I was Anthony T.E. at the tourney, btw. Next time: big breakfast.
While there, seeing the comp for a while popped a question up in my head,…
“Boxer” or briefs?
After doing my math I ended up with
4.5
23.3333333333333333
81.7%
Success Rate!
I wish these matches were recorded!
Hopefully I can make the next tourney. =D
Yea thanks for a good time people I met alot of cool players, I left before any of the tournaments other than 2v2 sf4 because it was taking wayyyyyyy too long. I played 2 matches with a 1 hour gap in between, yall had dope players but next year I hope it gets more organized, none the less that ish was madddddd fun!!!
Big Ups to J.Money buddy had me rolling with the commentary on my exhibition matches
Good job to FLoE winning everything lol
Next year?
Psshh… There have already been 2 Fight It Out’s this year. I’m looking forward to at least two more!
TBH, it doesn’t get much more organized than that. Four PS3 setups for 53 participants, with little down time on the setups as far as I noticed. They even had a monitor set up to display the full bracket at all times.
YJDK.
Ya it definitely was good. 1 or 2 more tvs or setups would have been great but seeing the CRTs there was fantastic. Good shit to J-money and everyone involved with putting the event together.
Next time, no smash brothers please!!!
hell yeah… they did a great job hosting and orginizing… just too many ppl wanting to play casuals… luckily there was a few 360 setups for that… it was fun as hell… but i could never find anyone willing to play me and clayton for any munny… and i wish we could recorded all the fights
i got a buncha pics and and match… the match is of Jay (vega) vs Isaiah (rose)… high flying vega and a quick thinking rose:
and also there’s some pictures in the same folder… only one ‘group photo’ type of pic tho… i’m not in it but it does showcase Jay, J-Money, G2, Josh, Isaiah, Noah, Brian… and others:
and after watching the last 4 tournament matchs go by with out a single kick being thrown… there is nothing more pleasing than hearing ‘MY FIGHT MONEYEEEEY!’… and there should totally be another F.I.O… preferably soon… maybe the end of June… whenever… just lemme know when there’s another one…
When/if there is another Fight It Out, I’ll try my damn best to come out to it…I missed this one due to some lameness at work, but eh…next time is next time, I suppose.
