Just waiting on my shipment from Amazon right now. I had it pre-ordered and they were saying it wouldn’t ship until October for some reason but then I got an email saying it had shipped so I don’t know what that was about. Can’t wait to get it though.
The Capcom Store has this book too, the hardcover edition.
Man money is kinda short at the moment, if only i didn’t already buy this awesome softcover book.
Also is the tribute book worth buying?
so no sf4 related stuff in it ? anyone knows if they are planning to release one ?
There’s tons of SF4 stuff in the book. Including all of the drawings used for the arcade endings.
Yeah, awesome book. There’s definitely some SFIV in it. It’s mostly by artist, so the ones that worked on SFIV have SFIV stuff.
And actually, I thought the Tribute book was awesome too.
does this book contain a lot of art or if any, from the Tribute book?
No artwork from the Tribute Book since the Tribute Book was mainly fan submissions and this book is all official Capcom Artwork.
I got my copy earlier this month…Great book, blows the Tribute book and Eternal Challenge (which I need another copy of) away. I’m in love with the very first picture of Chun where she’s eating an apple. Tried to scan both pages…not too great. There isn’t a digital version of the book on sale, right?
Yeah haven’t heard anything about a Digital Version being available.
I need this book in my life when I get some money. How is the page quality though? I remember when Eternal Challenge came out, you had to make sure to get the right one with the glossy pages.
Page quality is fine, no complaints.
It’s the thick paper stock kind. Although the cheaper quality paper in the first editions of Eternal Challenge didn’t really bother me. I think for a book this size though that the cheaper paper would have been a problem
Hey can you get this in store not online?
Also did anyone get the 96-97ish artbook called Capcom Design works. It has many Capcom characters on the cover from a sideshot walking on the street. Does it have any unreleased pics of Ryu?
I am a ryu whore after all
Thanks :china:
Comic Book stores and some regular bookstores have it, call around and see what’s near you.
Capcom Design Works? I’m assuming that since you went to the NY Anime Festival that you can get to Kinokuniya. They are on 1073 Avenue of the Americas, near 43rd and Bryant Park in NYC. They’ve had the book for years and you can pick it up there, it’s on the second floor. I know they also sell the Japanese version of SF20, not too sure if they sell the English one (you shouldn’t buy the Japanese version of SF20 anyway unless you can read it).
Capcom Design Works is the EASIEST of all of their old Japanese art books to find. You really shouldn’t have any trouble finding it online if you want it.
It would take a very long time for me to compare but I’m fairly sure every single piece of Ryu artwork in Capcom Design Works is in SF20. Hell even the drawing for Capcom Design Works’ cover that you mention is in the book. If you can only get one book and the purpose for buying is Ryu pieces, get SF20 instead.
orochinagi.com has most of the Capcom Design Works pics.I have a shitload saved on my CPU if anyone wnats them.I ordered my SF20 Artbook last week from Books-A-Million so it should ready for pickup this weekend.
thats the best advice and help you’ve given me.
i dont think my barnes and noble has the SF20. i def want that one. my comic store doesnt have it either, they JUST started getting the udon books
how much of SF15 is in SF20? I got SF15 and was surprised about how many artwork pics I never saw and thought I saw most of them.
Pretty much all of SF15 is in SF20 plus a ton of old and new artwork SF15 missed.
Yeah, it’s amazing how comprehensive this book is, with quite a few unfinished pieces. It really made me appreciate how diverse CRMK’s repertoire was. Only thing that could’ve been better was the smaller size on some images (like for the original SFEX) but SF20 is already a huge book.
Was there any artbook from Eternal Challenge not in here? Nothing stood out but I could have missed something.
