Comic Book stores and some regular bookstores have it, call around and see what’s near you.
Capcom Design Works? I’m assuming that since you went to the NY Anime Festival that you can get to Kinokuniya. They are on 1073 Avenue of the Americas, near 43rd and Bryant Park in NYC. They’ve had the book for years and you can pick it up there, it’s on the second floor. I know they also sell the Japanese version of SF20, not too sure if they sell the English one (you shouldn’t buy the Japanese version of SF20 anyway unless you can read it).
Capcom Design Works is the EASIEST of all of their old Japanese art books to find. You really shouldn’t have any trouble finding it online if you want it.
It would take a very long time for me to compare but I’m fairly sure every single piece of Ryu artwork in Capcom Design Works is in SF20. Hell even the drawing for Capcom Design Works’ cover that you mention is in the book. If you can only get one book and the purpose for buying is Ryu pieces, get SF20 instead.
orochinagi.com has most of the Capcom Design Works pics.I have a shitload saved on my CPU if anyone wnats them.I ordered my SF20 Artbook last week from Books-A-Million so it should ready for pickup this weekend.
thats the best advice and help you’ve given me.
i dont think my barnes and noble has the SF20. i def want that one. my comic store doesnt have it either, they JUST started getting the udon books
how much of SF15 is in SF20? I got SF15 and was surprised about how many artwork pics I never saw and thought I saw most of them.

Pretty much all of SF15 is in SF20 plus a ton of old and new artwork SF15 missed.
Yeah, it’s amazing how comprehensive this book is, with quite a few unfinished pieces. It really made me appreciate how diverse CRMK’s repertoire was. Only thing that could’ve been better was the smaller size on some images (like for the original SFEX) but SF20 is already a huge book.
Was there any artbook from Eternal Challenge not in here? Nothing stood out but I could have missed something.

I think just some Udon stuff the US Edition had and that’s it.

thankyou for posting this, i have been looking for a street fighter art book for awhile to use to customize my stick
I look forward to picking it up
I have Capcom design works, and to my knowledge, there isn’t any unreleased pictures of Ryu in it.
Yeah I dont think Ill get Capcom Design Works. Because these art books are expensive and I’d rather use it to get the Tribute or SF20. SF Tribute is not in stores at all right?

Don’t know but Tribute is about a year old or so. You’d have to look around or just get it online.

SF20. SF Tribute is cool but there are a few pieces that I personally feel do not belong in the book, either too cartooney or too simplistic. The good far outweighs the bad but the bad is still there. I mean like SF characters as rectangle people, things like that. :wasted: I hope the Darkstalkers Tribute book doesn’t have pieces like that. Only people who can draw anatomy please KTHNXBYE.
well i can believe you on that. its horrible to say some ppl didnt deserve to get theirs in but i saw some incredible works from ppl on srk. i did not enter, wanted to, and i dont know the ppl who entered so im not trying to bias. also im on deviant art browsing a lot and i wonder how many of the pieces i saw there titled “sf tribute” made it in.
i will check out SF20. whenever i draw a SF character it tends to be in either Kinu or Akiman’s style, or resembling it. It just feels normal. So I look at these books as not just motivation, but somewhat of lessons. They really teach you about dynamacism. I will look around for SF20.
hm… i totally spaced on this book… i gotta go get one like now…

Got my copy of the GLORIOUS book yesterday…I love it.IMO CRMK(Bengus)SSF2Turbo,Marvel vs.Capcom 1 &2 drawings were the best. His Alpha 1 stuff I still scratch my head about because he shouldn’t have changed his style.Akiman’s Chun-Li on page 5 looks SEXY!!
The art you uncover through the trial modes in SFIV would have been nice to see in the SF20 book. Maybe they’ll use the sketches in another art book that will also go over all the new art from Super Street Fighter IV.
Hmm, guess we did a good job!

Off topic, but does anyone have any of Shinkiro’s art for Resident Evil? I heard he made some RE2 art but I can’t find it anywhere.

I don’t know about that one. RE2 came out in 1998. Shinkiro started working for Capcom in 2000 (CVS1 was his first game, I’m not sure if he was still connected to SNK when that game came out due to it being a crossover and all). Unless he provided RE2 artwork after RE2 was out and everything. Maybe try Image Mishmash Forum.
There is one art piece iirc, with a girl surrounded by zombies holding a gun to here head, it’s in Capcom Design works.
Btw I got my copy of SF20 this week, thanks for recommence Sano:tup:
This book is thick!
