You can mash better than me though.

And your N.Ken is GODLIKE. :wow:

And for the record, I was in Japan 2004/2005 (after I played Schaefer and co.).

My bad it was 2003 a week after Jeff played diago on Hyper SF2 at FFA

So who’s setting up the side tourney?

The one sad fuck who hasn’t witnessed the abortion that is CE Bison yet.

CE Bison gets countered, though. The game is trash anyway from a tournament perspecitve.

Not even countering CE Bison can save the game from being trash.

Doesn’t everyone know it’s all about CE Claw and WW Sim…

Are u sure your old school?

In my opinion I think HSF2 should be the second old school game to enter besides ST and not a replacement, otherwise ST would be the only old school game to enter and thats it which is sad…not much of a selection compared to the new school games. Lets say one person goes to evo just for ST, but gets eliminated and spent all that travel money for one game, but could have another chance at a similar SF2 game were his skills would still be useful.

Do you see were I’m getting at?

 I just googled Jion_Wansu and came across this:

any chance of people ever playing this again?

Just like any chance of you ever coming to Evo…no.

What makes this game complete trash imo is that its not even what its supposed to be. The old versions of characters just do retaaarded amounts of damage. This is totally not how it is if you play actual Champion Edition, say. You can’t even do CE Dictator’s redizzy in HSF2, they’ll die before you finish it!

I guess I might be the only one, but I really enjoy the game, and would probably say I find it the most fun out of any SF game. I’ve always liked the variety in being able to choose whatever version of a character you wanted it. I also happen to enjoy HF over ST, so that might be part of it for me. Not that I don’t enjoy ST, but compared to any CPS1 SF game, it’s always felt awkward and floaty to me, for lack of better word, so being able to mix things up between different versions of characters is just fun to me.

The only “legitimate” gripe I’ve ever heard IMO about the game being broken is the Vega glitch that was eventually fixed in the Japanese re-release. That’s something that just didn’t function properly and was corrected. All the other complaints about high damage, CE Bison being god like, etc., I never really agreed with or had any issue with. But to each their own, majority rules, and majority put this game to the side tournament-wise after trying it for a year, so be it.

Just out of curiousity, do you realize tou replied to a post that’s over a year and 3 months old?

I never had a problem with this game and wish they would have HD’d/Remixed this one instead of crap super turbo.

Many would consider that statement blasphemy.

That was golden!

Ya, those that would consider that statement blasphemy are the same people who weren’t that good at Hyper Fighting and the older SF2s…

This game isn’t as “broken” as some people cry it out to be, I mean for real, if you’ve played CvS2 (Fucking Blanka or Cammy Hello!), A2 (Chun, Rose, Ken, Ryu?!), A3 (Sim, Gouki???), MvC2 (Big 4???) or any other on a competitive level once before and trying to cry that AE is too broken is the most fucking retarded thing I’ve ever heard.

CE. Dictator was never as bad as people boast him too be (good Shoto’s and Guiles will ass rape a good CE. Dictator when played correctly, I saw this shit go down alot during the height of CE, and it really must be a lost form to current players today, because it seems everybody forgot that good zoning, spacing, footsies will beat out Dictator), hell, I’d be more fearful of really good CE. Ryu’s and Guile’s over Dictator, because their zoning, footsie games when played correctly is far more dangerous then any dizzy combo setups Dictator could ever do.

Another thing is, although CE. Dictator in AE does more damage, he is not as beastly as the arcade version, and the simple notions are that blocked Psycho Crusher is only 4 hits on AE while at the CE arcade it was a devastating 6 hits on block.

Sure, damage is the exact same on block, however those 3 extra hits on block do absolute wonders in lockdowns, and simply makes his game that much better, not to mention the slower speed also benefits Dictator alot as well.

However, the idea that only OG SFII characters do good damage is laughable, considering, the ST characters do almost as much damage as the old characters, in fact, the ST characters do even more damage then the HF cast. The WW characters although they overall deal more damage then the ST characters, almost all of them are trash besides Guile, not to mention the WW cast overall seem to move slower then the rest of them.

If you look at it as a whole, only four CE characters really stand out, and that’s Ryu, Guile, Dictator, Sagat, and to a lesser extent, Claw. After that, you’ve got solid running characters from HF with Blanka (Vertical roll on block into throw is full of lol), Ken, Gief as examples (Has everyone forgotten that c.mk into SPD on block rapes?), and you still have the powerhouses of ST with Sim, Rog, Chun etc, etc.

The idea of this game being broken is again, garbage, when in contrast to the stated above FG’s, the amount of playable characters is roughly the same, if not better then. However, I feel that the real reason this game gets more hate then usual, is the fact that most players today are simply not used too, or don’t/haven’t played much against Cps-1 chain characters, which is the real factor.

Why is this still a discussion? We were given HD Remix so that SF2 would not get booted from the lineup, it’s what’s being played. Period.
