quick note, it’s extremely direspectful to DIRECT LINK to peoples videos. you basically ignore the content of their site and only use their bandwidth. most people appreciate it if you link to their movie page, or their front page. a lot of japanese sites go down because people direct link.

I know what ur sayin. but i just do it for people cause sometimes i will post news and they say i can’t read Jap or whatnot “I am to DUMB to see BOLD links to D/L vids” so i just put them up for peeps, kinda a double edge sword, i want to help out peeps to get vids if they need help, and for the vids to get to SIte’s to peeps.
Does it ignore the content of the site? YES.
Does it get ther vids out easier? YES.

That website posts video updates for new release videos fairly regularly by directly linking to the videos. That’s really fucking weak and really fucking amateur.
So here’s fair warning. If that doesn’t stop immediately, i’m going to delete this thread and close/delete any other posts i see mentioning that website/hub/group. You have 24 hours to change all those links to the front pages of the websites they are referencing.

If you have a problem with what he was doing tell him in a pm. Since none of the people who actually run the sites in question posted their displeasure I am guessing that it is something that just ticks you off for lack of nothing better to be mad at. Get a real job dick.

I think he’s getting on our case cuz he’s doing something that we did a long time ago on that video opera site of his (posting video news), just my opinion. Beside i dont see any site emailing/pm us to stop linking them. Its advertisement to go to there site if anything.

If you say sftchina gave you permission then i believe you on that one. Those fools are just bootleggers anyway so it doesn’t bother me if you are stealing their bandwidth. For everyone else though, people put up videos on websites to bring attention to their website. What you’re doing is taking away people’s reason to visit the websites those videos are made for. You claim to be helping spread the videos yet you are using other people’s bandwidth to bring attention to your website. If you are gonna claim to help distribute people’s videos, then the very least you could do is host them.
One of the vids on there is on lowfierce.com which is owned by me. I gave permission to Amir to link directly to it on his thread on SRK’s forum - that doesn’t mean you can jack the link at your leisure. The guy that runs Pimp Productions mentioned to me recently that he hated the fact that people posted direct links to his website and the reason that he didn’t want to help me do vid updates on VO was because he was afraid i was going to put direct links up to his vids. In other words, sites like yours are giving other sites a bad name. You’re also directly linking to some of acho’s vids when they aren’t hosted by sftchina, and they obviously hate people directly linking to them or they wouldn’t keep changing the videos URL. Plus i’m sure Mem doesn’t appreciate you directly linking to his CvS2 combos because those are there to promote the video they are still planning on selling at some point. On top of that, those combos are like months old and direct linking is the only reason you’re able to get away with making them look like you found something new. I don’t expect a reply to this paragraph, i’m just clarifying my problem with your policy.
I apologize for the tone sounding harsh but i wanted to make it clear that i was serious. The point about direct linking was already brought up by tragic a few posts ago and it was just overlooked and ignored. I have a personal problem with anything that undermines the effort someone has put into making a video for this community. Call it whatever you want, but i’ve acted on it before (when sftchina was bootlegging Sai-Rec’s vid) so it shouldn’t come as any surprise to anyone that’s been here for a while. I’m a pretty easygoing moderator, but this isn’t something i agree with and i’m not gonna apologize for disputing it.
