does anyone else use taunt 7 to set up the demon? it seems to have faster recovery than the other red fireballs a lot of players will try to jump the red FB when they see akuma glow only to eat that demon on the way down. Doesn’t work as much on good players though just wondered if anyone besides me ever tried it.

ok I have a wtf moment…

I was playing a gief in a G2 Championship match and he had over 11000 GP. I would have won this match, except for the fact that when I Ultra’d him for the win… he crouch jabbed me out of it and then ultra’d me…

now I was furious because I was under the assumption that demon’s beat out normals… is there an exception for gief?

I haven’t tried this on training mode yet but I’m about too.

just confirmed on training. Gief can cr. lp out of an akuma ultra :frowning:

In fact… I just tried it with Ryu, Sakura, Bison and Blanka, and they can all do it as well.

I didn’t search through all of the posts, so I’m sorry if this has been covered, but It was my understanding that a demon will beat out all normals since it’s a throw.

Only if you use if from a distance. The Ultra has invincibility frames for the first few inches, but after that you can get hit/grabbed out of it. Though if he could have c.LP then he could have also jumped out of it.

but the demon has to be pretty much on top of them to be into the actual “grab” frames of it. So its not that the jab is beating out a throw. Rather, your not being close enough yet. Its just like stopping a block string to try and grapple and they jab u out of that.

I was wondering how his Super worked, its a lot more similar to his HDRemix super, except without the ability to grab during hit stun… lol imagine how god tier Akuma would be if his Ultra could grab during hitstun

I realize it is not working, sorry buddies.

There are some instances where you can execute either Super or Ultra. After watching Ne0Russell’s vids on Youtube, I have learned that you need super fast finger speed to catch opponents with the Shun Goku Satsu (SGS) out of even the most common moves. I am not saying that the info given in this thread is incorrect. However, these are things that I have seen and done for myself. It takes, research, timing and sometimes anticipation. If you are willing to take the chance to search these opportunities, it will pay off.

Always anticipation. Always.

Anyone made a practical use out of cancelling a fireball into a super?

they can still jump out of it

Nah as in hp fireball xx super expecting they jump in, then tagging them with super. That would be cool.

They can still knock you out of it on reaction. Or you could anticipate wrong and just walk into a reversal special or ultra of their own. I’ve done it a few times by habit (after training a few hours on getting the Super cancel out) and I never have landed it yet that way.

I did catch someone playing Sagat by busting out the Ultra right as my standing FB hit him (he blocked it). I managed to catch him just as he came out of block stun, but again, that was most likely a fluke as he could’ve jumped out of it. I guess he was expecting to be pushed back or my RD to petter out just in front of him.

He thought wrong!

Uhm, actually lp/lk also get beaten by throws. I read this is the system section of the tougeki SF master guide.

What are you responding to?

nice, when i get my stick am going to practice like hell to get this down.

very nice

light hurricane hp/lk/c.lp/lp demon…
when they are hit with a normal in mid air they flip back to land on thier feet,
does the demon catch before they can jump out of it??

I havent search As I dnt have time but I am really interested
works perfectly in training mode
but woulld it work live

They can jump out of it, you cant combo into demon period.

kudos for finding the right spot though
