I got hit out of Demon by E.Honda’s focus attack. Ouch.
I always thought that if the opponent was charging a focus it was an automatic Demon, but I guess that’s not always the case if you are not quite close enough to catch them before the FA hits active frames. Was about mid-range or half a screen away. I’m pretty sure that if he would have forward or back dashed he would have been hit by the demon…
I’m sure it also takes very good timing on the part of the person unleashing the FA… Anyone else seen people stuffing their Demons with a Focus Attack?

Speaking of FA… I don’t often hear about people attempting combos into FA. Cuz if you can combo into FA, you can combo into ultra.
In the corner:
lp hadoken xx lvl 2 focus > ultra - 495 dmg
lp air fireball > lvl 2 focus > ultra - 475 dmg
ex air fireball > lvl 2 focus > ultra - 515 dmg
Mid-screen:
ex air fireball (second hit only) > lvl 2 focus > ultra 475 dmg
Has anyone had any luck comboing a crumple from a cr. mk xx hadoken? It seems like no matter how carefully I space it, even if I end up where hadoken without cr. mk can combo into a crumple after doing a mk, I can’t do the 3 hit combo.
i actually posted about combo-ing into FA earlier in this thread, i think.

Why 2nd hit only mid screen? Is it because his ex air fireball only combos off both in the corner? Ive always wondered about why sometimes both fireballs hit, and others only thee first does then they have time to block.

The knockback from a two hit fireball more often than not will just push them too far away for you to close the distance and then charge a lvl 2 focus. If you connect with the second hit close enough, you can charge a lvl 2 focus in time because there’s less landing lag from the ex version. 2 hits work in the corner because fireballs don’t cause any sort of pushback.

Yeah I met a bison online that stuffs my demons when I bait FA by throwing reg fb’s but 50% of the time he can time his FA to stuff my demon so it’s not bad more like a competition between us.
Yeah I think us Akuma players are going to have to start finding the exact limit of the range that Demon will beat FA without getting stuffed is.
After awhile players are going to train to time their FA to beat demons and take that anti-focus tool away from us.
lp.red fireball = great anti- FA tool…
Not really, since they can focus it…
I get what you mean though, they see red fireball and don’t know what version it is so they don’t focus it…
I’m talking about punishing focus attacks on reaction. If you throw a red fireball at them and they are already charging focus I think they have time to either backdash and jump over it (far away) or hit you before the fireball even comes out (close) – but I’m not positive on that.
ahhh. i see what you mean, haha.

Akuma’s lp red fireball is just a little slower than a regular fireball. Not that bad.
You can Kara-demon by repeating the first step.
1.) F+LP+MP
2.) F+LP+MP (still holding F from the 1st step)
3.) B+LK+HP
It makes it easier- to not having to think about switching to pressing just **one **LP in step 2. Just spam the 1st step **twice **,and then, move on to the ULTRA demon needed in the 3rd step. If you want to kara super you have to REPRESS the joystick forward for the 3rd step. As it won’t work if you just hold “F” the whole-way through.
Well I do it the same way, in fact the way I actually do it…
- F+LP+MP
- F+LP+MP
- B+LK+LP+MP+HP
Makes it way easier for my fingers, but I wrote it the way I did because all those extra inputs aren’t necessary and probably confuse people. To Kara super it’s much easier, you just roll from forward to down/forward, no need to re-tap forward.
You have sausagefingers Loltima? 'Cos otherwise I can’t possibly see how that’s easier for you to do.
It’s pretty simple, that way you don’t have to train your two fingers hitting LP+MP to lift up for the final input, it’s less thought more muscle memory. It may have something to do with my finger layout:
:lp: Middle :mp: Ring :hp: Pinky
:lk: Index
So as you see, all my fingers are assigned to those buttons to begin with, I just mash LP+MP three times, and add the index and pinky for the third and final input.
I can tell why you press LP + MP an additional time. I actually have a similar style to yours (hand placement wise), but you play a lot more erratic than me. When playing against vitaminwater I saw you doubletapping, if not quadruple, A lot. Whilst I on the other hand have a very much more laid back way of playing. The only times I double tap is when I’m trying to do 1 frame links. I like to think that using my hands in a subtle manner will make me play more calm. Zen if you will. Thus minimising any kind of openings I would otherwise be more likely to make.
As in actual “double-tapping,” I haven’t started doing that until recently. I do sporadically hit the buttons after a combo or knockdown because I’m compulsive like that, and have to always have my hands hitting shit. When I mash out teleport or HP SRK, I do that not just just because the window is easier to hit, but because I have bad nerves and always want my hands to be occupied.
Punishing jump ins with low foward > demon

It’s nothing new(in fact this is really old), but you can dodge a good amount of jump ins with c.mk. After you lower your hit box via c.mk and [hopefully] dodge your opponent’s jump in attack, you can go straight into Demon and they will land into it. If timed correctly, the opponent cannot jump out of it. This is one of the only legitimate demon setups.
In terms of execution,
- c.mk and lp at the same time
- another lp(which is buffered by the c.mk). This gets rid of the two lps for the demon.
- Back + lk + hp at the same time right when your c.mk ends.
If you listen to my stick in the video, you can hear these 3 sets of inputs so you can get a feel for the timing. tap tap tap

I don’t see anyone using cHK to bait focus and hit confirming into demon. The RD+grey bar from the cHK totals to around 700 dmg. Also the difference between the cMK and cHK buffer is the cHK buffer brings you down and forward to get closer if the jump in may not make it. and cMK brings u down and back to prevent some cross-ups and to dominate bison’s ex headstop/ cammy’s ex hooligan/ and akuma’s and goukens ex demon flip (has to be done helllllla late on dive kick) Also FYI you can point blank counter demon rose, ryu, chun li, rufus, viper, sakura, dan, akuma, and bison’s ultra after their animation zooms out to prevent chip. I just mash out lp while their animation starts up and finish with b+lk+hp as soon as it starts zooming out. you can to balrog’s and fei long’s u just need to be a step or so away. With guiles you have to be like a frame late and full zoom as he’s leaving the ground his first kick with wiff and he’ll get demoned. I just interupt guile with rd after his first kick.
