Well I didn’t mention any names now did I. For the record I like Guity Gear and if it weren’t for SFIV and a lousy GG scene in my area, it would be my main game. So stop ASSuming things.
I was more or less referring to the countless GG inspired loli games which and just ABC chain fest. Those games just can’t steal any thunder from Capcom.
And I don’t like TVC. played it got bored quick. Its definitely not Marvel. I could perhaps make myself like it, but its a dead game anyway. Oddly enough it’s another GG clone like the other loli games.
People play Street Fighter because it’s not repetitive like the dumb loli games released over the years. So understand that next time you get on your high horse and run your mouth about FG fans.
And yeah I’m going to say it, only Capcom or SNK can revive this genre. Not horny loli game developers producing combo porn

The genre will always be a niche. At least I can count on anime fighter games releasing in 2D, though :pleased:
If they do it they better not make it 2.5d like SF4. If they made it with HD 2d sprites like kof12 though that’d be amazing. I’m ok with the SF vs KoF idea as well. Really the only two things on my wishlist would be that it was 2d and that it had SF3 characters, cause TBH I’m starting to get sick of all the SF2 characters.

they can make the studio bigger, hire more artists, developers just like they do with their other 3d studios. The problem is there isn’t a market for it. Specially here in the U.S where everyone is “OMG!! 3D graphics owns” and 2D graphics are look as something of the past, where 2D = anime/cartoons and anime/cartoons = for children.
to be honest I didn’t find anything out of the ordinary with SFIV. The gameplay still feel sluggish, clunky, specially on those jumps just like everyother 2.5D game I’ve played
just because capcom refuses to make another trully 2D game doesn’t mean snk or ASW should stop doing it.

I hear you. There’s a reason why fighters had a serious beating the last decade. But on the other hand there needs to be games that are familiar and exciting for the casual market. Having a MvC3 will attract a large casual market, from there we can get more people into more innovative stuff. As much as I want vs. games and shit, there always needs to be room for more impressive shit like 3S, GG, and Fatal Fury that are changing the way we play fighters.
Is it too much to ask for both?

KOF vs. SF was already done. It’s called CvS1, which was basically only KOF and SF characters with Morrigan and Nakoruru thrown in as bonuses.

Yeah, how dare someone want to play the type of game they like. 
The “fighting industry” has been dying for a long time because most of the casual players it once had were drawn away to other, trendier genres. It has nothing to do with the specific types of fighting games that fighting game fans want or don’t want to play.

Like I said in another thread, it would really be nice if other industries were so quick to move toward “the future” and dump everything else as the video game industry apparently is…

SF feels petty damn repetitive to me, with no real updates for the characters, like new moves/overhauled movelists or supers, yet almost every character showing up in every sf game, almost exactly as they were in the previous game, with nothing new…how many decades can a nigga train and not learn/figure out ANY new attacks?
OMG here we go again: Animu, Donjon, Faggots, Internet Hate Machine… can we stop now?
And yeah, wishlist thread… but oh well, hope that this can come true, and IN 2FUCKINGD.

It better be in 2d sprites, and not that gay looking style SF4 has. The characters don’t fucking look right, Claw’s eyes look fucking dead and vacant like some goddamned undead, Zangief looks like a goddamn catfish or bass, Balrog looks like those godawful black stereotypes where they give blacks huge bug eyes that pop out of their heads,and the others look like freaking monkeys or something, especially Ryu and Ken. For fuck sakes. I’d even prefer if they editted the damn characters out of old KOF or CvS sprites “mugen” style over SF4 style, god it looks like absolute shit.
Also don’t let Capcom anywhere near final boss designs, after that goddamned mokujin style Gill clone they tried to pass off as a boss for SF4, they proved they lost their touch with bosses. How the fuck did that shit happen anyway, they went from a badass Hitleresque char with evil powers, to a badass Jesus guy in a thong, to some ripoff of the Jesus guy with moves stolen from other characters and the most retarded idea for a super move ever conceived. That Ultra felt like some shit from Clayfighter for fuck sakes.
who the fuck would let ono ruin another SF game? sf4 is fucking terrible even though I enjoy playing it. Cvs people, you can expect the same failure with cvs3 if ono is on it.
His fighting philosophy is terrible because he wants scrubs to able to compete yet, he doesn’t understand that @ high level, that engine dynamic fucks the game up. You can expect the same “easy” fighter that sf4 is if ono does cvs3. I’m willing to bet it.
the capcom of old, 91-99 had the best programmers\developers thus far. They understood the fighting concepts much better than the new capcom team does. In fact, I think some players on this web site have better fighting concepts than the team @ capcom that are being paid for it…
look @ TVC and SF4 and tell me those are ground breaking games conceptually… they just want to cash in rather than put out anything decent. Until capcom makes up for these horrible games with some GREAT ones, from this day forward personally, capcom is shit garbage.
yeah hitler and jesuz where bad ass. same for one eyed goliath of sf1 fame. seth on the other hand? wtf is he on? they really fucked up. its like recycling gill with urien and adding some random moves. he feels like one of those sf2 rainboy editions where ryu shot 12 firebals and characters could change during the fight, walk in air and even shoot sonic booms while doing light kicks.
Yes please make it 2D, sf4 is terrible. sf4 animation is what I would like to call the snowman effect, sprites just stacked on top of each other with no smoothing in between.
i could give a shit about the graphics. ST got play for many years because it was a great game aside from its sub par graphics. So technically, the graphics don’t matter to make a good game. Its about the philosophy that goes into it and the engine mechanics. Kof 98 is basically the same thing. A very old game that got HEAVY play around the world for years regardless of all the great looking games around it, it managed to stay ontop as one of the better fighters out there.
I don’t think players want to play the same old school games anymore. IMO, the new capcom couldn’t make a “new” great game if their lives depended on it. Meshing ST\3s and calling it sf4 isn’t “new.”
TVC is terrible. 1 angle air dashes? no beta testing on the game. Tag engine isn’t exactly the best and they didn’t really add to many new concepts to the game. all though we have many fighting game fans, lets do a wii only release… Not to mention that the game is already dying and it hasn’t even been out that long.
Resident evil 5 looks like every other FPS game out the market now but with zombies.
capcom has no more originality which made the franchise stand out in the first place. They’re just another cookie cutter company making cookie cutter games.
Capcom hate is strong in this thread. Anywho, cvs3 would be just fine in 2d with HD, I wouldn’t mind seeing the previous levels from 1 and 2 added onto a few more new ones.
