I don’t think Poongko will miss jumping fierce at all.
When I watch videos of him play, I love it but I feel like there is nothing for me to learn from it, other than attack like a madman and be godlike. He plays as if Seth has 2000 hp.
Aight everybody well i aint no poongko or online tony, but i def. like the way seth plays and so i wanted to pick him up as a sec., maybe evening leaning towards main char. now. but i put toghether a little combo vid, with some gameplay at the end.please let me know what you guys think.

Poongko says stop being a lil bitch and be a man. Seth has a lot of tools, why would you not use half of those just because you’re scared of getting hit. he uses him pretty much to his full potential, Its like playing Gouki running away like online players spamming gohados, FUCK THAT SHIT, I’m going to use his godlike offense.
but why would you hold back? don’t you want to kill your opponent? I sure damn want to, i’m not gonna hit him with 30/70/100 dmg for the rest of the round and run the clock, and sure damn i don’t want to give him a sec to think about a strategy to do a comeback and win.
i think that’s the rushdown mentality and that’s exactly what Poongko is known for and what, imo, Seth excells at.
Right but the fact is it takes forever to kill someone with seth keeping away and annoying. And it only takes like 2 mistakes to kill Seth. His offense is exponentially better than his defense.
Why not run the clock? From a distance you can be just as intimidating as up close. Someones sees me neutral jump so they think “Now I uppercut”… but wait, I didn’t use j.HP? And now I punish their anti-j.HP with j.HP? I like getting inside people’s heads who think they know how to play against Seth.
You gotta really plan your approach when rushing down. Sure Seth is good at it, but you can’t just go in without the concept of taking massive damage in the back of your mind if you screw up once.
Also in that Poongko vs Hawk match, it would’ve been a good idea if Poongko went on D for awhile because Seth has some pretty good punishes for condor dive on block. Playing on D gives you opportunities for bait tactics.
Running away and zoning is a fine strategy, especially in particular match ups where rushing is dumb. I’d go as far to say that Seth’s match ups change a lot based on how aggressive you turn it up.
I know what you mean, and you are not wrong whatsoever. I personally play with a mix of defense/offense/adapting like Daigo, for example. but Poongko, like Justin Wong best described it, if a sword is the attack and a shield is defense, Poongko has a sword, while someone like Daigo has a sword and a shield…and that makes him not as good as other players, but you can’t deny also that rushdown is the reason why he’s considered so good. so, to end this really useless garbage I started (did I?),
I’d say: << Its Poongko, Behold the glory that is his Tandem Engine >> ;D
