well i dunno what his actual nationality is but bruce lee was the original kato in the series and he’s chinese.
He was Japanese in the 1930’s radio show. Think his nationality was changed a few times over the years, such as Korean and Filipino. (not entirely sure on this)

I don’t know about this. I hate Seth Rogen. Why do we keep getting these mediocre actors player big roles in movies these days.
Because the people with the money are so detached from reality, he only has to make them like him to get these parts. I see why Stephen Chow rejected the role of Kato.

Wrong. The people with the money are very much in tune with reality. Financial reality. People see his movies. Whether he’s a good actor or not isn’t what’s on their minds, it’s ‘will he bring in dollars’ and so far that answer has been ‘yes’ just about every time.
lol obviously its all about finance, I’m not arguing if he is a good or bad actor (he is good at what he does - comedy), I just think he is unsuitable for the role.
He probably ticks most of the boxes on Hollywood’s checklist for money making movies. But they’ve had to write him into the the lead role since he just isn’t believable enough to be the original GH (Son of the Green Hornet, thats almost as bad as having a James Bond Jr movie).
What I loved about the Green Hornet tv series was it more serious (grown up) take on crime fighting compared to the campy coloured and clothed Batman series. I don’t know if it’s Rogen’s ego or something, but he should have just stayed behind the camera and do a cameo.
I guess I will find out if I am right to be concerned when I watch the movie.

I second all the hate for Rogen, he isnt THAT funny and he is the same in most movies… Like a Homer Simpson as a normal, bland person…haha, so not like homer
