Works just fine in the corner.
It doesn’t work against everyone in the corner (EX DP, EX Tanden.) I don’t think anyone made a list yet.
EX SRK > EX Tanden works on everyone in the corner.
I will confess that I don’t have a Notepad for Seth, so I had to re-test. I was able to get it to land on every character in the corner.
I’ve had games where it whiffed in the corner. Had a game today where it whiffed against Juri. Sure I did the timing right.
Might only happen if the EX DP takes the character directly into the corner from just outside the corner? I dunno, I’ll look into it later I guess…
does seth has any unblockables on any characters ? Also, i have been trying to do the cross up stomps after a spd in the corner but it always whiffs ,. is it character specific ?
at least three unblockables exist and are explained on this page http://forums.shoryuken.com/t/seth-video-thread/57723page-34
No. Just adjust your timing. The timing is more strict now that stomps aren’t active until Seth hits the ground.
Quick question: after any blocked tandem engine, if I mash cr.lk or cr.lp, would that be a blockstring?
I’m getting uppercutted inbetween. Any tips?
First of all, stop mashing.
Second of all, yes, but it depends on spacing.
I meant mash as in: try to press it until it comes out.
If I do it from up close (like 1 block away) could it be a blockstring? Or is there anything else I should be aware of?
It can totally be a blockstring, like if you have good timing I believe something like cr.lk cr.lp cr.mp xx lp tanden cr.lk can be a blockstring (not between cr.mp and tanden). If you cancel cl.hp into tanden you can basically always blockstring into something after tanden.
However you have to have good timing to do this, you can’t just tap cr.lk rapidly to get the first one.
hey guys. was wondering how you guys all use tanden (if at all)? I’m a relatively new seth player who has played seth for awhile since ae but just started to main him.
I personally use it in situations like, after they jump a lp boom fullscreen / 3/4 screen (mp tanden)
during blockstrings like c.lp, c.lp, c.mp xx lp tanden, or after a blocked jump-in hk/hp > s.hp xx lp tanden
i hardly ever do meaty tandens on their wakeup as usually they would just ex dp or something.
i dont know if im using it too often or would there be other opportunities?
Something I’ve noticed is that after a loss, I usually find that its because im not using my tools enough, such as SPD and Tanden mixups, so if you guys can share with me your wisdom then I would be grateful, cheers
i like buffering tanden in cr.mk to catch pushed buttons, and mixing it with just cr.mks and cr.mk xx sonic boom (fadc).
on wakeup its a decent option after they are already mindfucked and will not try to dp you every time.
up close lp tanden is a beastly tool for me also, to fuck up other players footsies.
another way to use it is to OS after safejumps if they tend to backdash.
also, tanden is great against bison, abel and balrog - it grabs them outta their moves like psychocrusher, roll, balrog armor dashes and simple dashes, works on other moves like guys run thing.
how do you OS tanden?

So im assuming you would buffer qcb + p while safejumping with a roundhouse after spd or something? or am I pretty far off lol.
also what kind of blockstrings do you guys use? i prefer to end mine in c.mk > sonic boom as if it confirms i can fadc > s.hp xx legs. does anyone know any combos that can start from jab/short ending in sb on crouching opponents?
Uh, kind of. There are different variations when option selecting, especially after a safe jump, depending on what reversal you are safejumping. Essentially you input your OS right after you strike the jump in attack button.
Blockstrings or frametraps? You described a frametrap, not a blockstring. For blockstrings, anything chainable will do.
c.LK, c.LP, c.LK, c.LP, s.LK is the one I would say I use the most.
There is always the standard XBL Bison special: c.LK, c.LK, c.LK, s.LK
As for getting sonic boom to land in a combo on crouching characters, that is pretty character specific and spacing dependent. Sonic boom will normally connect after c.LP, c.MP xx , but you might as well confirm into cs.HP xx HP SRK/HK legs rather than c.MP xx boom/legs. Even if you were to get the boom to connect (say on a CH c.MP) you might be just too far away for a cs.HP after the FADC and get arms instead.
guys, on 8:22 poongko does jump back instant stomp and then divekick. how is it even possible?

You have to do it as close to the opponent and as early as possible. It’s just like doing it with a neutral or forward jump, but with much less leeway on the timing and spacing since Seth is moving away from the opponent. It’s difficult to do without a reset or knockdown. What I want to know is why people let him get away with doing that shit.
That would be so fun with jumping fierce
edit: NVM about the jump fierce thing. It changes you to a forward jump state.
Also, you can do it after Tanden pretty easily.
maybe he caught infiltration by surprise with that shit, i was also wondering why there was no reaction to that
