Seth Killian Leaving Capcom

Also good, passive-aggressive bullshit directed at somebody you just don’t like.

Edit: C’mon now, Alex, I mostly agree with you, but Sakura is pretty blatant, intended parody or not. Sometimes attempts at parody end up being exactly what they pretend to make fun of.

Why Why WHY COULDN’T IT HAVE BEEN DEREK NEAL THAT LEFT!!! SETH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!1

But seriously I only wish Seth Killian the best. Godspeed Mr. Killian, you will be missed.

Okay dude I already made my point: she’s lame on purpose. But even still, one character in the Alpha series (the nadir of SF character design) who gained some popularity isn’t the point. I don’t like fighters that have certain types of style. It’s not an anime thing, or a cheesecake thing, or a comedy thing.

Fighting games are subjective - for all sorts of reasons (gameplay, gfx, overall presentation, what the fuck ever) If it’s no good, then it’s no good. Just like anime. I’m not a huge anime fan but there are some great movies out there. It would be retarded to try and defend the genre overall as some superior form of animation that is above criticism though. The same for anime-style (or really, I guess it’s the air dash or whatever other word we were using before) fighters - I don’t think I need to repeat myself with the specific examples I already gave.
We understand each other yet? Shit!

you could have made a thread about it and left it at “let’s not derail the thread” instead of outlining what you think about it and “unknowningly” inviting others to do the same

Remove Ryan “cash cow i secretly have anger issues” Gootecks and ILL like the post. cause you know Im super important and my likes cure cancer/get people laid.

is this thread even about fighting games, just curious everyone, since it’s in the forum “Fighting Game Discussion”

My problem was exclusively with you saying ‘subjective but they’re bad’, because that’s not an actual argument, and with Sakura in SF4. I dunno why you’re arguing the rest of this.

Is this a joke? Because…there is.

And even if you ignore the anime, being based off of a Japanese erotic visual novel is pretty goddamn close to the same thing.

All you had to do was follow the damn train, SRK!

Y’all straight Bustas!

Im liking just cause of your AV.

Yeah, you kinda missed it, try to keep up next time.

Well here’s the thing.

We get drawn into these discussions, but at some point realize that they’re WAAAY offpoint. At the same time, I, at least feel like I need to answer the question asked, it feels really wrong to just leave a guys questions standing out there (plus sometimes people come back with ‘you never addressed XXXX’ at a later date if you don’t answer them). Just seems very rude somehow ><

So, it seems like the best solution is to both make the best possible effort to answer the guy’s questions straightly, and then kind of say ‘hey, we’re offtopic let’s re-focus’. They’re free to answer, or whatever, but barring nastiness I’m usually happy to leave it at that.

Nay some games really only exist to fill a niche. I think MvC2 has the worst overall direction of any major fighting game, ever, and there are a lot of things in the game that I liked in its predecessors. I wanted to like the game as well, but I think that it is an example of a game where you have to overlook too many bad qualities to enjoy the rest of it.

Here is an example of a really bad post:

Notice how he misses the point entirely and tries to appear like he’s above everything that’s going on while, at the same time, being more of a shit-head than anyone else and wasting everyone’s time?
That’s exactly how I feel when I look at the new KoF 13 style.
Also I really grew attached to the way it used to play, but stylistically, it’s garbage. It’s a shame that the good animation was used like that. Seriously end the Ash Crimson saga or release a different SNK fighter. I’m tired of this stuff. This reminds me of another discussion where I was talking about how Samurai Shodown went from being good to being a worthless assed game.

I don’t mind you disliking how the game looks, as long as you keep it separate from ‘this game objectively looks bad’, which is what ‘lower quality’ would mean.

EDIT: Also, the Ash Crimson saga did end with KoF13. Thanks to people like you running around with ‘omg objectively bad’, people like me get to look forward to future KoF games with 0% chance of Ash because he ceased to exist at the end of 13. Hopefully 14 is a dream match.

Alright I concede the point, moving on.

facepalm

They are not panties. Those are bloomers. It’s athletic wear and common in female PE uniforms in Japan. Why do so many people get this wrong?

I’ve never actually looked at them, no one here plays Sakura. If you want proof I know bloomers are, I can post a picture of me wearing mine, though.

I’m betting, especially with the surprising longetivity 13 is having, that they’ll just do 13:UM next.

Somebody at SNK seems to care about their stories a lot, so the next true KOF will probably be another ‘arc’.

Seriously excellent post lol. Must approve.

Per sakura, maybe its 'cuz we didn’t quite know what bloomers were in the mid-90s, but we sure as hell always thought they were panties. I kind of take the bloomer thing as Capcom revisionism ala Poison.

Hating characters is another legitimate concern. I mean I never liked Kensou, but I’m not getting dickslapped into accepting the (new) lamest character in the game as the protagonist.

Interestingly, some of my favorite games are the ones where the protagonist or most of the cast IS replaced, but not by a sorry character.

I wouldn’t be able to call myself a crossplayer if I didn’t own a full set of Japanese schoolwear that nowhere actually uses anymore. So naturally I have a sukumizu and seifuku as well.

My bloomers are black, though.
