This boss is making me rage. He’s such a pos BECAUSE he recovers fast.
Just gotta not let up the pressure. Posture can’t recover unless they are in neutral. Unless you mean his attack recovery, but honestly even if you get him to block, you’re still winning then.
Yea Gasa is right, his recovery doesn’t matter much because as long as He’s blocking or attacking his posture stays up so just keep on him. In phase one when he does the jumping slash he ALWAYS follows up with an unblockable thrust so Mikiri Counter his ass every time. During phase 2 he mixes up the thrust with a sweep. If you see a shiny flash in the center of his model then He’s gonna thrust. If you see it to his right (your left) then He’s gonna sweep. Both of these moves are just him begging you to fuck up his posture bar. In phase 3 he stops shooting the bow at you when you heal and does a jumping lunging thrust that can also be easily Mikiri Countered. That combined with the previous two moves he still does and thenlightning mechanic and he can go down really fast.
This guy is a skill check for Deflects and unblockable reads. If you can deflect him decently enough and read the unblockables then you’ve got him.
This is my fight with him. I just noticed the name is wrong in the title haha. Will have to fix when I get home.

Yeah I got lucky and defeated him, I had trouble with his phase 3 but then I learned to how reverse that lightning of his and got his ass handed. But really I must’ve died like 50 times to this guy. Fuck him.
Now I’m in Senpou temple and got my ass kicked by some big armored guy so I decided to take a break.

No feel him, I was actually really annoyed a pop up window popped up in the middle of the 3rd phase of the fight cuz I couldn’t read the fucking thing and not get murked by Genichiro. I didn’t start deflectibg the lightning till about 45 minutes into practicing phase 3. Horrible way to intro that mechanic.

The game paused when the pop up window appeared. I didn’t have to worry about Genichiro.
There’s also the scroll just below him that introduces the idea before the fight. It even has it’s own pop-up
I was too busy getting butt fucked. And once I read it I had to react to it by jumping instead of trying to dodge and get hit.

Made it to the fountain head palace. It’s a shame I have to kill all those nobles. I like the music they play on the flutes.

I’ve never even heard a single person say that. It doesn’t require it on PS4 for sure.
