I need to finish Yakuza 4. I’m at the end trying max out everyone and got tired of the damn dress up game as Akiyama.

started 4 recently. are the level up orbs shared among characters? only on ch.2.
this series gets more loltastic. lol massage mini game.
Nah, they aren’t shared.
Damn I need to finish 4. I got to the last chapter but had get rid of it. If I get it again I’ll start all over for the enjoyment.
I just bought the first one and started it last night, and it’s the first time I’ve REALLY loved a non-fighter or non-puzzle game since Metal Gear 2. Surprised I never heard of Yakuza until people on the PS3 thread pointed it out to me.
Tonight NESTS Kyo and Mr. Karate are released for KoF13…
Should I lab it up with the remaining DLC characters… or play more Yakuza?
I also want to subscribe to this thread… because this game is amazing.
Just select Watch Thread from the top of the page (above the first post in any page of a thread).
You don’t really need the Yakuza DLCs (i got mine free via codes that came with the game hehe). Checking the release date it comes out after my B-Day, though I hope some game shops here can get it early X3
For those that played the JP ver., can you choose which character you can play with or is it like Y4’s progression?
So I finally picked up a PS3 and bought Yakuza 4. It’s too fucking good. I can really see the Shenmue influence. I think I’m at chapter 3 with Akiyama just running around finding locker keys and trying to find substories and a million before I proress. Picked up Yakuza 3 yesterday and I’ll probably try and find 1 & 2 on ebay at some point. Shame I got to put the game on hold though need to finish other games

Gameplay halfway through. From the* creators* of Yakuza, gameplay halfway through the trailer. Kazuma Kiryu confirmed as a playable character in the multiplayer version of the game. Reminds me of Ghost in the Shell/Irobot in many ways.
Man that is one freaky future =_=
Yakuza series is amazing, I’m really glad that more and more people are picking it up now. Cannot wait for Yakuza Dead Souls too. I played a bit of the Japanese demo and it looked really good but the controls and language barrier stood in the way. Kazuma being in Binary Domain is really cool as well.
IIRC, they’re fixing the controls for the english release.
^Indeed they are, that’s why I’m so excited for it. It sounds like they crammed in just as much content into this release as the main series too. You can train the survivors to make them into partners and upgrade weapons etc. I think theres still some hand to hand combat in the game too, which would be awesome. Can’t wait to use heat moves on the zombies.
If anyone is wondering, Yakuza DS is not the first time zombies were in a Yakuza game. Yakuza 4 has zombies too, just play ultimate skill mode. There is a challenge where Kazuma has to find guns in a parking lot to kill them! BTW Ultimate skill has more interesting scenarios compared to anything in the story mode, I recommend anyone to play it.
i finished yakuza 4 this weekend (my first experience with a yakuza game). amazing game man, the story telling is on some other level shit. i loved the interrelatedness of everyone’s stories. i’m now mad hyped about yakuza dead souls, a possible day 1 purchase (last game that happened with was dark souls)
also, beat em ups need to use yakuza’s combat system with a little more refinement and that would instill life in a genre that has seen none in years.
im outi
Roberth
Agreed the beat em up genre is becoming a thing of the past, but Yakuza is keeping it alive. I am very curious to see what the team does with the Yakuza 5 battle system.
I’ve never played the Ultimate Skill mode, but I want to give it a shot now. Did Yakuza 3 have one as well, or am I thinking of something different? Where you had the random weapon and random healing item and had to fight all the bosses?
Honestly, the amount of content in these games is utterly staggering, I could buy only Yakuza games for this whole gen and probably never get bored…
Yeah Yakuza 3 had one, it was harder but not as interesting as the Yakuza 4 rendition.
The last challenge in that mode for Yakuza 3 was a pain in the ass. Sad part is i completely forgot that i had weapons.
Found me a copy of Yakuza and going through it. Other than the terrible VAs I fucking love this game.
