They’ve finished the games. It would be pointless of them to waste that effort IMO. I’d be so upset if the games were canned.
@Cla
Sega is sort of taking a financial risk by even releasing the game in the U.S…
At least the U.S can get a hold of it at last…
Also games published by Sega have been more or less complete straight out the box…
At least I’m not being sold characters(cough Capcom) and only costumes and shit…
You’re making too many assumptions in the first place… putting the game on disc will cost Sega additional money= no go(you said there is no reason for them not to release it on disc)…
The game may very well be too large with the accessories(assuming a lie again)…
You’re assuming that all content is there when other people are saying that someone who hasn’t dl’d the costumes may only see a default outfit(not sure of how true this is, but if the opposite is true, this assumption is more less correct…)…
Thing is that Rebellion developed AVP 2010 and had to really fight Sega just to get dedicated servers. Think about that for a second. They couldn’t even get an editor going, and the game died in a month. Granted that the single player was good but multiplayer sucked dick with too few maps, horrible matchmaking, and broken mechanics but still. I hold this as evidence that Sega is not the best Producer of FPS.
I hope this doesn’t fuck with Jet Set Radio HD.
I hope they do it for XBLA/PSN/Steam and keep it 2D sprites and controls just like SOR3. That’s one thing I hate about modern beat 'em ups is that the devs think they have to use every single button on the controller to do everything and buying special moves and combos. It just makes it unintuitive, and ultimately a mash fest of 3 buttons. In every single 3D beat 'em up you just upgrade to that one combo or one special and spam the fuck out of it until you win.
Sometimes you just need 2-3 buttons like SOR or Capcom’s Alien VS Predator beat 'em up.
You talking about the PC version? If you are, Sega is just a shitty PC publisher in general. They do little to make their games true PC games. Unless it’s Total War

What are they lying about? XBL games max file size is 2GB unless they are on Demand Games.
I’d rather they leave out items than like training mode features, tutorials, etc.
The game is downloadable game price too. You make it sounds like we’re paying $60 for the game, it’ll probably be like $15-20 and the game is fucking godlike.
Holy shit I forgot about The House of the Dead. Does that mean that we’ll be left with the cliffhanger at 3 if things don’t get better with SEGA?
i suppose that’s what you get for rehashing sonic games, taking gambles on new IPs that suck dick (Platinum Games exempt), outsourcing development to western studios, and resurrecting popular series’ too late.
i want to see JSR and Shenmue get re-releases. Sega is most likely going to measure the sells of those games to see if it will warrant sequels. i would buy a current gen console again if Shenmue 3 or Jet Set 3 were in development.

This is kind of surprising because I thought Sega under Sammy ran a tight ship. They’re not dead, so I think the OP went a little overboard. Though this could drastically change their development and release (localization) strategy in the future. That’s a scary thought since I barely recognize the company in its current state.
These really are ominious times in the ‘dedicated’ game industry, when current console sales are beginning to stagnate, 3DS and Vita had sluggish launches (and 3DS only picked up after Nintendo slashed the price by 40%, and threw every AAA game at it, in the first year), the public basically laughed at the Wii U announcement, and the media keeps saying smartphones/tablets are cutting into dedicated gaming consoles/handhelds. Next gen could look ugly for fans of vg console makers and the familiar 3rd parties.
PS. If you’re a VF fan in the Western world, you gotta hype the living shit out of Final Showdown, if you want to play any future VF installments without moving to Asia.

Good Shinobi, not 3DS BS Shinobi
They just need to put out Console/Handheld sellers at launch instead of random and, terrible games no one gives a shit about.
I hope House of the dead 4, VF5 FS and jet grind radio HD are not affected.

Ever since UK:R went offline it was only a matter of time
Ah, it’s because they release Sonic Erasers soundtrack. Remember that game guys and girls? No, no you don’t so let’s get pissed off together. Before you watch this vid, just remember that SRK loves you:

alright. Im pissed off at SEGA right now, Did you hear that shit? It sounds like a gay robot scraping his dirty ass red balls on a fucking motherboard. I feel like punching my ears in the face right now
This is probably a good move for Sega. Let’s face it, the industry is in a really hard position at the moment, all over the place people are hurting and things just don’t sell, and even Call of Duty MW3 was outsold by Black Ops. This is a really big deal, even if you don’t like COD, COD was always the safe bet. Yes, MW3 still sold a disgusting amount of units, but MW is meant to be the ‘AAA’ Call of Duty, and it got out-sold by the previous years ‘B’ game. If COD is in decline then that’s a clear sign that publishers need to pay attention to. Just in general, numbers are falling for retail releases.
Frankly, it’s probably a good idea for Sega to cut some titles. As much as I loved Platinum Games, I’m almost certain that Anarchy Reigns is going to be a collossal dog. I would put money down now that this game is going to bomb hard. It looks like it might be fun, but honestly, it’s very niche and I don’t think that even plastering ads everywhere for it will make much of a difference in this case either. Now I don’t think Sega will cancel Anarchy, seeing as how it’s due for release in a few months, but would it really be a bad idea for them to cancel another title down the line that’s similar?
Take off your gamer’s hat for a second and think about it, would it be a good idea to publish Platinum’s next new IP, or wait for Bayonetta 2 instead?
Is it a good idea for them to get Creative Assembly to work on a new console action game that pushes the boundries of RTS, or to have them make Total War: Rome 2?
Is it better for them to push out a new adventure game for the Vita, a dead-in-the-water console, or hold that money for marketing Aliens Colonial Marines while the hype for Prometheus is building?
I think that it’s sad to see titles get cancelled (although none of us really know what they are and if we would even want them), but in this climate, I think this is really the only sensible choice.
Don’t forget that great games like Total War and Yakuza are part of the ‘proven’ franchises that they won’t be shit-canning (English Yakuza is probably still safe too, considering localisation via subtitles probably isn’t breaking the bank too much either), and they said they would continue the digital titles, so things like Jet Set Radio HD will still be happening.
Makes me wonder how much money the would have saved if they had just let the Sonic franchise die…

Once they started making dumb shit like Sonic turning into a werewolf, my love for Sega was all but lost.
This is what happens when you don’t give the fans Shenmue 3.
