Ditto here. For years all I knew what that in all SoR’s, the best way to tech a throw would be to just mash circles on the dpad, mash the buttons and pray it works. I’ve never met someone who knew the commands for each individual SoR…
No, boss. I have the game. It’s Up+C. A’s the Special, B+C is the backhand/rear attack.
Everybody remember that JET SET RADDDIIIOOOOOOO HD comes out this summer. All Sega fans should get it.

Ok, I had no idea up+jump worked in the first game. I’ve been using the attack+jump buttons to tech throws in SoR1 for years (decades). I guess the back attack cancels the throw impact animation.
SoR1 is broken as fuck. All the characters had pause delays, and you ‘grapple kill’ some of the boss and there isn’t shit they can do about it. Blaze was the best character in 1 because her normals were better than the other two, and she had the best throw in the game.
But anyway, yeah Sega has been fucking up for years so this shouldn’t surprise anybody. They still have a couple of titles they can hang their hat on though, like the Valkyria Chronicles series.
Not that surprised, of Sega the one I remembered the most is the Sonic Pinball game on the Genesis. As for Bayonetta, it was different but not great. That new shooting game from Sega was down right terrible.
Kinda like Capcom in a way, more flash than substance but that shit is wearing down. Anyone suckered enough to have played Lost Planet, Asura’s Wrath, up coming Dragon’s Dogma. Shit Fighter basically is like Pokemon. Resident Evil is acceptable, if it stuck with stop and shoot, might as well blam that shit but REorc was passable but there was clear shortcuts in the story mode and the alternate costumes basically a different fucking color and nothing else.
wait that shit is still on?
lol…:wtf:
Don’t forget Yakuza, still my fave series this gen. And total war if you count those.

BRING THIS BACK OUT! make it modern by tweaking a few things, but this would be a good reintroduction. i also agree with the people who criticize sega for coming down on the sonic remix makers. personally, i expect a lot of game devs to go under because they are not tapping into the amazing wealth of talent from all over. it’s just the same lame people in the game industry getting recycled from job to job. without a healthy influx of hungry talent no industry can survive.

It’s hurts seeing EA doing well and SEGA doing poorly :[

What I’m guessing will happen is more devs will just take the Android/iOS/Steam/indie PC route. It’s so expensive to host a game on Nintendo/MS/Sony’s DD stores, and physical games are reserved for ‘guaranteed’ hits. The mobile or PC model at least ensures that they can make money for their efforts.
The console publishers are so strained to distribute stuff that will absolutely sell, that they can barely allow any innovative risks to get through. As the consoles enter another generation with super crazy graphics and bloated budgets-- because they must-- the situation is going to get worse. It’s up to the publishers to find talented developers, and keep a balance between staying profitable, and avoiding killing console games with ‘safe’ mediocrity.
i hope there’s still a future for Virtua Tennis. one the few VS games i play on the stick that isnt fighting.
man. anyone here remember the time when Sega dominated so much they almost bought out Bandai , challenging Mickey Mouse and Disneyland and pretty much planning to take over the whole world? … yeah what a bizzare alternate reality would that have been.
Psh, please. You want Vita to sell? Sneak in a DQ from under Nintendo’s notice.
That shit’s like a religion over there.
I think it’s been said, but for real dude: jump kick all day. They’ll dodge and be stupid, but you just need to be vertical with them; this way, the either move into your kick’s hitbox, or you land safely enough to move into a grab before they can grab you. Also, if you’re on foot and not in grab-range, throw jabs like mad to provoke their jump kicks, which you can punish by avoiding their horizontal plane.
Also, back-attacks (Atk+Jump), since the AI is always derpy toward those.
We could’ve had the Streets of Rage Remake on PS3 and Vita if Sega weren’t such bitches…
Sega of Europe, anyway. Still don’t see what the big deal with that was anyway, since SoE gave Bomber Games the ok in the first place. No clue why they went back on their word, but w/e.
Not that I’d really care about SoRR on a console if we had online capabilities as is.

Actually Bandai almost bought them. There most likely would’ve been a console after Dreamcast if that went through.
