Nope, it’s on the sender going both ways.
Depends on which service your SS uses. For example, my gift arrived via Fedex and I received a letter on Monday saying I need to pay $7.85 (on a gift valued at $30) in “customs clearance charges”.
Ah I see, I’ve only used UPS and USPS for international.
