DYP sound extremely fascinating, actually. I’m all for that.
As far as the event calender goes, maybe it doesn’t have to be just you that adds things to it. Maybe the heads that are more in tune with the community can do it. Pat, Brent, Mandel, Frank, etc. Even other NW scenes like Oly with Aburnflags and Rcaido, and Portland with OMNE and Slash could update it. Community is community and this can be part of it.

I’m probably going to be totally wrong about how this works, but would it be possible to do a twitter update on the page, that the main people in the scene doing things would have access too? Then whenever someone is having something going on, they could just hop on the twitter account send a quick message and it would get posted on the site?

I personally haven’t ever used twitter and my only knowledge is a quick glance at the TW’s twitter tournament updates. So if there is no way to make this work I’m sorry for posting nonsense. PLEASE FORGIVE!

In December of last year James had a sit down interview with Kim1234 (a really strong Bison player in Japan) where they were able to discuss Japanese fighting game culture. They go into talking about how trash talking is dealt with, the social mannerisms of players, the difference of a Japanese Scrub compared to an American Scrub…all sorts of good stuff. So you should all check it out!
