Tim Static already said the UMK3 Tourney is run on an Arcade Cabniet and no pads will be allowed. I cannot play with the Arcade Sticks so I will not be attending this event. It just seems odd to me that the very people that are trying to “Hype” up the UMK3 game would turn away over 1/2 of the prospected players because they cannot use pads. Just know that if you win this tournament, you cannot say you are one of the best as they are turning away a major portion of talent that does not use Sticks. So everyone can look foward to the same boring ass players EWASHOCK, TIM STATIC, AC1984 trying to beat Lex and Moe. Whoo Hoo, sounds like an amazing time. Again, I won the last 2 events hands down, you dont let me play you haven’t beat the Champ. Holla Swalla !!

Professa Rouse, you may as well skip UMK3 unless you can play with the arcade stick. There are NO PADS allowed at this event for UMK3. Tim Static and EWASHOCK taylored it to thier “High Level” crew. LOL

NO Pad players for UMK3 is inaccurate.

We will have both Mame and Cabinet at SBR to cater to both worlds.

I honestly know ppl who were nice in arcade that are now better on PAD.

Specific Mame Versions with rom revisions have been pushed onto any newcomber to the UMK3 world for years longer then its arcade lifespan and has been used at several Major Tournaments so thers no reason to stop now.

This Pad vs stick debate needs to end, In some cases the pad player has caught up to the Stick player so why would you not want the best competetion that is available?

As much heart & Soul that Luckyday put into his dual arcade stick w/set up and we’re going to tell him he cant use it, thats not a goodlook.

If we are able to modify the cab for pads we will go that route but MAME will be in the House for the PAD Warriors.

Well we are running SB:R so it is guaranteed – but yes Tim we appreciate your help man and all the hype (and having just arcade was the original plan just like last year, that’s why it was promoted as such because there really weren’t pad players going to tournaments, or UMK3 tournaments at all) so please update your OPs soon. Thanks!!!

I have a CPS2 converter so it MIGHT be possible to modify with UMK3, but my friend has to wire it so hopefully it’s possible. If that’s the case both will be present and arcade tournament will stand.

Chris: in theory the JAMMA fingerboard setup that you used on my cab @ Evo should work fine for UMK with some adjustments. I don’t have any MK board to confirm, but I’m assuming any necessary extra button harness works similarly to how a CPS1/2 kick harness works. I figure if you rewire your fingerboard board according to how the extra buttons are setup for MK, you should be OK.

I would just use MAME as you know theres going to be somone that bitches because their pad does not work with the converter. That way anyone can play, xbox controller, ps2 controller, sticks, usb controller, ect. Just an idea

Well its updated now, but this is the first I’ve seen that it was changed. We did discuss it at CBB3, but again this is the first its been relayed to me. (hence, when I posted that info, it was infact true) Hopefully we wont have to use Mame and can get the game running on a cab with pads wired to it. I am not really wanting to add pads to my cab as of now, but we’ll see if it even works. The game is night and day when comparing Mame to Arcade board.

You go on and on about this 10+ baby bullshit on Shock at Summer Jam that I guess only you saw because thats not what everyone else saw. Because apparently you need a gambling license to do something like that, in ohio. So there’s no talk of MM’s in the thread, and there won’t be any MM’s at Momo’s itself. Outside of momo’s is fine, and PM’s are still viable for discussion, as well as facebook, etc.
