Season's Beatings III - RESULTS!

Cool Breeze, just checked out your blog. I realized you dropped on August 26th. I stepped out on August 28th. We got that Lord Virgo going! You hold that down in ATL, playboy. I got this here in Detroit.
I wish I coulda made it to SB this year. Family comes first, though. I got you all at Final Round, though.

That guile is godlike son, I’ll see u next year homie

Yeah… sounds about right.

Anyway, good shit to you guys. The tournament ran very well, all things considered. The biggest thing to take away from this is just lessons about delegation. Ultimately, no matter who you pass the brackets off to, your rep is on the line. Everybody that wants to help definitely means well, but it doesn’t mean they’ll do well.

As for running a big one in NYC… DO IT. Ohio is cool, but as stated, if you guys tried to bring big play to the Midwest, well, you did it. I think it’s time the MW people branched out and started traveling too. This is a community that thrives on mutual support. It seems to me that, outside of the GG community, the only time you see a lot of MW players is at MW events. Obviously, I’m not speaking for everyone, but I think it’s true for a lot of players.

In any event, good shit to everyone I played. Always fun stuff. Everyone I chilled with… you already know.

Hope to see nigs at NEC.

wow. soo dnp’d in cvs and still didnt place last.

lol

Fugee: We didnt get any complaints about set up counts so we are good in that respect.

Ghaleon: Soul Calibur complained.

Keits: Soul Calibur players are reporting they had only two stations for their tournament the entire day, and that they ran untill 5am.

Fugee: Not true.

Jesus fucking christ, were you in the same building I was this weekend?

I didn’t correct the record live, but he was answering that SC had 2 stations all day, which wasn’t true. We started SC with 2 I think, because TDR was still on, but we removed TDR stations and gave them to SC as we could.

And he’s also saying that we got few complaints ON THE DAY. It’s unfortunate that we didn’t get a lot more people coming to us at the time. (I think some SC dudes wanted a casual station mid-day while TDR was on, because they had their own system I guess which they hadn’t made known to us the directors, and Fugee gave it to them. That was it in terms of people complaining to us.)

Who won Arcana Hearts? Wish I could have stayed for that and CvS2 sunday but had to dip early.

Shout out to all the organizers who ran the event, shit was tight! Momo’s is a pretty nice venue. There were some mistakes but hopefully they will be smoothed out next time around.

Marvel was off the chain! Damn I saw so much good shit. But why was no one doing Cyclop’s unblockable after knocked down Sentinel’s is what I wonder? Saw Clops knocking down Sent’s so many times without following up with that.

Justin Wong won AH1, with CappsIndigo then Noel following.

chopa used Mei-Fang.

SaDo said I doctored the results or something, aha. Those are the results from the computer. The most that happened to the brax after they were made was I swapped some people 1st/2nd round because of region, and added people left off the bracket (only added to BYE spots only, from the 1st/2nd round obviously). Yes, the setup/seeding was weird but the results are foolproof.

Every match win was recorded correctly – if you think there’s some problem let me know but it’s pretty much impossible, so I have no idea how or why one or two people think I fucked with the results, hahahaha.

PM was:
"you already know you fucked up them 3s results

they said you stuck me at the bottom on purpose and that i should handle it, but im not worried about it

i guess some people fight with sticks and some fight with results. use what you can."

My question to him would be “Who are they?”.

I would be able to answer that question if knew who you are but, I dont. But since you want to quote me…not ONE person from the SC community ONE time came to and said they would like to have another station somewhere for casuals or even tournament, otherwise it would have been granted given the equipment was available. Every single person who came to me about setting up another station for whatever game was given the ok. I only remember GG asking for one on sun possibly for teams and Lex and his boy who set up UMK. I also did see MKT being played in the SC/DR area on sat on big tv and once again NOONE ever came to me to complain. I am now aware that the SC community is like smash and needs their own lil corner which is fine, I apologoze for the lack of casual stations. We will be prepared for it at the next event I promise.

If that is in reference to floating people in tournament maker, someone should have come and asked me how to do it. It is possible, it just requires a silly and unnecessary extra step.

Step 1.) Take the person you want to float/switch with another player, right click him on the bracket, and go to ‘replace’.

Step 2.) (the stupid part) Replace him with a placeholder name. I usually type DUMMY in all caps.

Step 3.) Right click the person you want to trade spots with, and replace them with the player from Step 1.

Step 4.) Go to the spot where DUMMY is and replace him with the person from Step 3.

Voila.

I dont want to start up with ‘software vs paper’ debate again, but there is as much evidence for software’s use as there is against it from SB3, and most of the issues you could use against it were just plain user error. But you get user error on paper, too, don’t ya Marn?

Thanks bud. You are definitely the better CvS2 player than me right now. I was surprised I was able to play at a 1/2 decent level despite no longer playing actively. I’m going to re-step my game up for NEC so I can give you a more balanced Money Match instead of one lucky super for a tie.

use yo brainssssss

hey, i didnt place last for once

i’ll be at NEC so i’ll see u there!
