Hey gang, I fully plan on attending also. Of course I’ll try spreading the word around the Ft. Wayne scene to see if I can get someone else to come.
ST should be speed 3. I think we go through this each year. 
That being said I don’t think speed 4 is necissarily such a bad thing so maybe this is a way of doing your own thing but if you are trying to base off other tournaments then I’m sure speed 3 is the way to go.

Alright, I might actually play Smash this year. If I had my way, I’d play the game on full defaults - all characters, full random stages only, and all items enabled on mid. It’s the randomness that balances the characters and keeps characters like Fox and Metaknight from winning tourneys. There are stages like Final Destination that favor fast projectile characters, then there are stages like Shadow Moses Island that allow more vertical attacks and wall traps, and things like 75m which make it easier to camp close to the top and sides and score KO’s. Screw the tourney scrubs; use the fewest rules possible. If you have to, run a minimum-rules side tourney alongside the main one. It’s really a different game the way the tourney people play it.
I’m looking forward to getting back into Tekken, CvS2, and any random stuff people bring. Anyone else want to see a Bomberman Live tourney?
Even though we haven’t posted rules yet, Smash will be tournament Smash – the community overall only deals with tournament rules, and singles/doubles already take a full day. I’d rather see more variety in the game too but that’s where it is. Full Brawl rules up once we get smashboards stuff going like always to run that side of things.
And – we’ll go with Turbo 3 then for DC ST then. Hopefully ST:HD will be out but I’m not holding my breath anymore for a late summer release or anything.
btw we really appreciate the support from everyone. It’s crazy how hype SBIII is ALREADY. Hopefully we’ll have some more announcements coming in June.

lol… how about all characters, limited stages ( Flat Shit… no environmental stages) … no items… 3 stocks 7 minutes.
None of that items bullshit. The Majority of the stages on brawl have stupid environmental hazards anyways… that could turn the tides of a match for a player who deserves is winning and deserves the W.

Thats pretty fucking backwards logic. There are good arguements out there for “Diet-Brawl” or “Melee-style Brawl”, but this isnt even close to one of them.

I’m not trying to start another brawl debate or nothing like in here but I am in favor of the “Diet Brawl” rules, simply because I think it makes its a much more interesting match to watch, in terms of playing styles . Tiers are shaping up pretty decent and I don’t think there is a drastic difference with the low tiers. I do enjoy a majority of the certain counterpick maps (some are just bad, like WarioLand) and personally I think a well-experienced player can handle themselves in tournament with more maps (they aren’t bad the more you play them), so in essence I agree with your logic. If it was JUST flat maps…that would basically be only 3 maps (Battlefield, FD, Smashville). I just think that adding both items and odd terrain essentially makes the game matches “casual-ish” and kinda boring.
::EDIT:: I also think that certain counterpick maps can still favor the low tier character…cause that’s pretty much what the “items issue” is about right?

You guys know we don’t know shit about Smash. Mathos runs everything for us, and we only do accepted community tournament rules, end of story. I’m pretty sure the community hates all items/Final Smashes so we’ll do w/ what the players want and are used to. Feel free to debate at the SmashB site.
