Well when you play a character to thier strengths(power/high low mixups) and not thier weaknesses(overall speed) they can be competitive.
seans shoryu sucks less if you use sa2, you can cr.mk shoryu into super, I think its easier to hit confirm then kens or ryus version because I think it comes out slower.
but for sa3 players like me, it is useless but I do use it sometimes as an anti air, especialy when people expect that cr hp, the shoryu can catch them at a weird timing. but thats one of them rare situations.
things not to do: hk tornade, forget all the damage and stun it has, its bullshit, to much of a risk, takes away of seans playstyle wich is supose to be fast paced mindgames, the oponent has the time to eat a sandwich before he desides how he wants to punish you. With sean you can only afford to do short intervals like lk tornade or lp tackle fake or lp roll so the oponent if he reverses you might not have the time to set to do something damaging.
there is so many things to sean, it almost never ends, thats why i prefer him more then boring ryu and them.
3SJ, i never said he couldnt be competitive. I use him more than any other person, after all he’s my main, I train so hard with him to be competitive, and my goal is to win tourney with him, i just need to actuallyhave time to go to some, and might need more training, cuz I want to be even better than where I am now…but there some things i need to address…
Dragon Smash isn’t all that great…sry. It’s not safe overall…he can even get thrown outta it, and that’s any version. It doesnt have much horizontal range, the actual move itself, not knockback…
HK > SA1, does more damage than EX DS > SA1
U will be using ur normals quite a bit against good players…I said they do more STUN than specials, not damage…
All I said about the tackle fake is that you can still be hit outta it…that’s all…i actually complimented it…
Parrying into SA2 is NOT a hit confirm, that’s an option select…
The Basketball to SA3 is NOT an unblockable setup, u can block both low or parry both high…
I said none of his SPECIALS are technically not completely safe, not just supers…
During wakeup tactics, Basketball is NOT ur only tactic.

lp tackle grab is a good move if timed right on HIGH only attacks.

They gave me a little hope in the low tiers. other wise I would be playing Wow,SSBB,Gunz,Unreal 3,and Marrowwind.

iI have no idea, I just know that SA3 is good againts characters who has fireballs, good chuns rarely use fireballs.
Supers that do not have invincibility (for new players):
Projectile super
Chun SA II goes through fire balls, but that’s it
XCOPY (no duh)
But 3SJ’s point still stands. Most…erm…melee?..supers have start up invincibility, or at least enough priority to blow through anything other than a fireball (some, like Sean SAII, will blow through a fireball). Super on wake up is a common desperation move because of the invincibility supers have. And as much as I rag on Dragon Smash, if you’re good at hit confirms, you can definitely use mp and hp versions. But I’m probably misinterpreting what 3SJ was saying.
Hit confirm DS? Dunno about that man. To be honest, I don’t think that move has much uses outside of punish situations.

3SJ, when I was talking about hit confirming, you were talking about parrying into SA2 like it was the same thing, and we all know it isn’t…all i am going to ask is please clarify next time.
During the recovery of your tornado kick, you can get attacked, so if they decided to super, jumping is not an option…and you more probable to getting throw, even if the attack hits…it just doesnt stun enough for you to be safe…
Now, for my apology, I thought when you were brought up the HK to SA1, I thought you were saying it as if you dont get good damage…I will admit I was wrong
And when I meant his speed wasnt a weakness…i wasnt talking about any of his normals, i meant the overall speed of Sean, that’s all…he has a somewhat fast movement…decent walking speed, and fast dashes…that’s helpful…the extra frames in his normals is definitely not helpful…that i will agree with you…
And for what I has happy to hear, that you don’t spam bball wakeup tactics…that’s a bad thing that beginner Seans do…and then do the same followup after it…like a headbutt, or low attack…they gotta learn to do something different everytime…just dont get used to doing it to ppl that have DPs, cuz they can blow past all of that…Q and Hugo are 2 ppl you can do it to without much retaliation at all…I know there are others, but i wont go into that in this p
Also glad you see the good things in all the specials, as do I. Just as I said b4, chose wisely and analyze when it would be a good time to do it…
And also i’m glad u see some hope with Sean, as do I and Bodler. I know there’s others, but I can’t speak on them, seeing how I don’t know how far they are with him…He’s a good character, even if ppl say he’s limited…and he can win just like anyone else, I know alone I proved that a ton of times…just when you play more and more, like anyone else, you will make wiser choices and see what works and what doesnt, like I used to use EX DP way more than I would now…I’m actually getting further away from it the more I use Sean…when ppl’s skill level is higher, things are taken into consideration, and it’s all done on the fly, building meter and when to use it, punishment and the max way of doing it in whatever situation, and other things…For me, also using ken/ryu helped my gameplay with Sean as well (as I said worked for me, you can possibly learn it while only using sean), ken being with speed and proper placement/range, and ryu for using solid hits and how to pack some stun.
Well I thought people could hit confirm Ken’s low mk into super, so I figured they could also hit confirm that into DS. Looks like I was wrong. In any case, Makoto SA III has invincibility if you activate and just sit there.
havent had one makoto yet that used that super art and couldnt hit them when they activated it…if it is…then i apologize…i didnt see it having any invincibility frames…i know the other ones dont.
ah, got to go down to the arcade today and get in some ok challenges. lost once (only cos i havent taken on a good twelve in aaaages) but other than that i was definitely the one to beat! …cant wait to go to work on monday…

HK tornado kick wont combo at all…under any circumstances…
s.mp, s.hp, s.hk, c.mk, c.mp, c.hp, can confirm to some version of tornado kick (except HK).
EDIT: I never did a projectile when they when a Makoto activated sa3, maybe just projectile invincible perhaps?
Nothing combos into RH tornado. Its useless AND unsafe. With a -2 frame advantage why use it?
