How in the hell are people making it to 5th Lords without knowing how to block?I wish I could go against people who would run into lightning legs a million times a match.I haven’t played ranked in forever. The matches I see on 8Wayrun and Team Sp00ky streams look completely different from what I see from that guy’s videos.

I wish I could remember all the stuff said on gamefaqs when I use to mainly post over there a a year/2 ago. There were some hilarious posts pretty much almost every day.

One that does stick out though was during Super SF4. Some so-called “tournament player” (he used this as leverage to try and make his opinion sound better) said that only scrubs and people with no skill use Balrog/Bison/Akuma/other high/top tier characters because they weren’t good enough to use “complete and fair” characters like Gen, Makoto, and Sakura.

I almost shit my pants when I read that.

Anyway I think Rose will be fine. Last thing I want is easy-mode Rose.

So . . . giving Rose a true reversal so that she won’t be completely free on wakeup would make her easy mode?

She has one of the best anti airs in the game she doesn’t need a freaking reversal special. What she needs is smart players. I actually prefer SSFIV Rose because her U2 allowed her to handle the rush down opponents well.
That said we will have to see how her worst matchups turn out this time. With Akuma’s flip being nerfed it might balance that match up better.

A generic reversal for Rose just ruins her style. She builds meter so well that most times she has an EX soul spiral ready. Basing this on SSFIV Rose. Hopefully she’s closer to that Rose than AE’s.

But he isn’t wrong. Sure, at lower levels of play, the bar would be lowered but at the top, where all of these things are basic muscle memory, then it truly wouldn’t fundamentally alter the game.

I am not saying I agree with making all specials one button, but this isn’t that much of a scrub quote. It is more of a open for debate quote. Of course there are things (like FRCs) that would alter a fighting game somewhat if it is made easier. But things like basic moves, SPD, Hadoukens, SRK, supers, wouldn’t alter a game fundamentally in the slightest, at least where it matters (High level play).

Apparently, he’s not the only one who believes that this Rose exists.

Have you seen how most roses play??? They get in and dash back as fast as they can all the time. The Rose players that come at me i end up winning but not the players who wait for you and dash back after their move has been blocked.

That match def needs to be changed to 5-5 i feel. That match is no where near free for akuma players. I remember they had a match up with kido vs a rose. He was getting worked. He had to work hard just to get one round on the Rose player. Not to mention the lil gimmick around her rose pedal move( i think thats it) using st lk’s safe box to get around it, which is super hard to time, and he still was getting caught up with that.
