I like how he talks about scrubs, when by the legit, academic definition of the word, he’s one himself.

Losing in a sport and losing in a fight (aka a sport) is the same damn thing lmao.

i’m not gonna lie, SG is way less interesting to me when the teams aren’t a similar size. 1v3 being the match I dislike the most because of that damage inequality. It almost feels like if I don’t have some crazy zoning team, I need to learn some ridiculous combo to deal proper damage. This isn’t quite the case but eating hella damage from one accidental drop kinda gives you that unclean MvC3 feeling. Love it to death but bleh, them gripes.

this happens a lot. earlier today I was playing a guy on 3SOE with a mic who kept telling me I’m a scrub because all I can do is win with top tier characters. people in this thread aren’t the only people who misappropriate the word!

Assymetrical teams are always going to bitch to balance and make feel “right”. Even Skullgirls doesn’t truly get it right and there are times where the system does seem to favor one over the other.

Also, I will agree that 3v3 is where the game seems to work best.

I found this when browsing around the HDR boards.

You guys see Viscant’s tweet on beating lowtiergod?

2v3 is kind of neat; the tension between extra damage or an extra assist has some tactical weight to it. The thing about 1v2/3 is that once you a really fast character going Hulk Retard on you shit gets pretty crazy.

I think its kind of interesting how there are things that as a player I dislike which can sometimes come across as a scrubquote. For example, there are some character designs that make certain games so unfun to me that I’ve stopped playing them. Nu-13 in OG BlazBlu is #1 all star for that kind of design. She made the game so unenjoyable that I just said fuck it. I had the same problem with Zero/Wolverine in MvC3; they just weren’t fun to fight against.

Strangely enough though, I’ve enjoyed getting rushdown mercilessly by Magneto, zoned out relentlessly by Sagat in ST (I play Chun which is a terrible match up for her), and dealing with other random bullshit in various games. Something about Nu-13/Zero/Wolverine just suck the fun out of me. Being able to look at parts of a game and be honest with themselves about whether that’s something enjoyable for them is a big problem with new players. Instead of throwing out some flurry of crap, just admit you don’t really enjoy the game and move on with your life.

Every once in a while, when my father and I play SSF2T, he’ll do a throw on ‘accident’ and insist that I throw him back. Like, the man will stop play entirely to make sure it’s “fair.” It did exist in the States. I don’t think anyone does it anymore (I’ve never done it outside of with my dad.)

GROSS

This is like the 8th time today I’ve walked into a joke like that…

Playing to Win just brings out the scrubbiness in people.

More Extra Credits comment gold:

Do the people who suggest these combo breaker mechanics just actively ignore the existence of Killer Instinct?

I’m guessing:

  1. It’s only on Xbox One
    2) They think it is a terrible game
    3) They just give no fucks

No, they’re just ignorant scrubs. Plain and simple.

Edit: I just read that entire thread and man oh man… There is only like 10 post in that entire 5 page thread that WOULDN’ T be considered scrubby.

Same guy, same nonsense:

Also, that person’s history teacher failed them if that’s what he thinks of learning history.

I feel sick.

I told you, that entire thread is filled to the brim with scrubs. It is a scrub quote gold mine
