Evo seems to bring about a lot of scrubby posts:

Oh god. Newbie section and other places are already blowing up. The flood is coming!

AHAHAHAHA…

Holy shit some of those. No idea how the dude hating Seth gets scrubquoted, I hate that fucking character too.

Quick somebody scrubquote me:

I hate that fake silver surfer Seth; he should’ve piledrive himself out of the roster.

Nothing wrong with hating the character; I wish Ibuki would log out of the game (ninja pun). I just think it’s scrub mentality to wish defeat upon someone, especially an accomplished player, for something stupid like a character choice. It’s one thing to want your favorite player to succeed, it’s another to spite the other player cause you don’t like their main.

That guy is a known scrub too. He whines on the UMVC3 boards as well, when he’s not making utterly pointless topics.

I think a good argument to throw back at scrubs who talk about sportsmanship and letting up on their opponent to make the game more “fun” is that by letting up and giving the opponent free leeway is basically more of an insult to them than just kicking their ass like normal. You owe it to your opponent to play at the absolute best of your ability because in doing so, you’re showing them their weaknesses. I expect nothing less from anyone I fight.

It’s been a while since I posted a scrubquote. Basically everything that masterscheme1 says. Lol @ “3D fighters > 2D fighters”. Is it me or do 3D players say the most amount of scrubby shit? It’s like people forgot how to block anything.

I’ve noticed that they do complain more about “balance” and stuff like “spam” and “repitition” more than 2D players.

I’ve tried that but they are often too far gone to see reason.

There’s that generation of players who grew up on games that just rewarded the grind instead of strategy, so they cannot process the fact that their are players who’ve seen their “unbeatable tricks”, and just get pissy out of pure exasperation when shown up.

The generation that should know better, just doesn’t. They grew up amidst disingenious players who used euphemisms like “fair play”, to mean, “use tactics i know i can deal with”. The worst of these gets their ideas of morality from whatever anime series their parents plonked them in front of after school, as opposed to those of us who basically learned how to handle life by, well, living it.

Interesting thing by LM-Akira in one of those videos about VF5. James Chen asked him about how people reacted to “cheapness” in the early days of fighting games, he replied “they came later”.

There’s also the patch happy nature of game devs these days who seem too overly concerned with patching stuff out.

Lol at going to the arcade later to avoid good players.

There’s plenty of people who have the potential to mesh with competitive gaming like everyone else on here, however, they’re not likely to if they’re not cognizant of the “Big Picture”. Unless you really REALLY want to beat the shit out of that guy who schooled you, it’ll usually go against your nature to just keep playing if you think there’s no solution to your in-game problems.

When people in the scene share things like footage of clutch moments (Cue Daigo Parry/Jwong Comebacks/Etc), they’re giving hard proof that says “Hey, you see these things that you thought were horribly lopsided situations? There’s solutions there.”

When you link to things like Sirlin’s/Seth’s Guides to Why You’re So Full of Salt, you show them the mindset behind competitive players.

These explanations/examples of why high-level play is like it is, coupled together a healthy dash of over-arching SRK hivemind mentality that “Nothing is Cheap”, have the potential of sparking that righteous fighting spirit when they pick up the game on their own. They’ll refuse to give up looking for answers, and be less likely to file certain tactics into their mental “Broken” pile.

You gotta keep pushing them till they’re balls deep.

Thats a scrub quote? o_O

I don’t know if this qualifies as a scrubquote but I thought it was funny:
"Personally, I think Ryu and Ken need to be made low mid tier, regardless of whether they’re too good or not. From now on. In all Capcom SF games. Forever.

People need to FORCIBLY be encouraged to try out the rest of the game’s roster. So much untapped potential, but the ease of use / familiarity of these two guys is just too damn strong to resist."

those sfxt ryu nerfs are a seed of this stupid generation’s mindset towards fighters.

Ppl thought donkey kick was broken?? SMh anyone who contributed to those nerfs with their whining, dont ever let me see ur scum face in a major

That’s just plain ignorant. Any good SF game will always have a viable shoto simply because their base design is fundamentally solid. A projectile that controls forward space, a good AA and a special that moves them forward. Those are the only moves that any character really needs.

Read his reasoning for it. No “fireball spamming”, no “cross up spamming”, etc.
Also, there are a bunch of other scrubs whining about throws being too powerful in SC. Seriously? You can duck them, and have tons of frames to tech. What are these people smoking?

I don’t think this is an scrub quote but, man why can’t they just leave umvc3 alone.http://www.capcom-unity.com/marvelvscapcom/go/thread/view/102977/28597689/UMvC3_DLCCharacter_Request_Thread_V3_(READ_THE_RULES)?pg=528

I want to shoot every fucking asshole who says the word “Godlike” in the face - get your own terms you fucking jocking, copypasta eating fuckfaces. It’s not so much as want to put a bullet in their head, but like, so that they can feel the blast of gunpowder as it explodes and torches their visage. “That blast to your face was godlike, asshole.”

Also, conversation with Steve H again, over the phone:
Steve H: "With the shitty fighting games that have been coming out lately, the next Evolution will be pretty different. Instead of players coming to the Evolution, it’ll all be just one guy calling up players one by one, asking them “yes? no?”, and they gotta choose. If they choose wrong, they wind up in losers bracket…“
SBZ and Steve: " LOOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL”

if you went to the maximillion panel, and that was like a real life scrub quote with the amount of MAX YOU’RE MY HERO. That was going on.
