Just out of interest has anyone ever met anyone who spouts this “online stupidity” in person?

I don’t mean the “uR 2 ch3ap” e-thugs, i mean the ones who actually do have the potential to see sense, but just cannot

Honestly, i wouldn’t mind knowing what those people who can equate tick-throwing or zoning in a computer game to real world perspectives and experiences are like.

Is it all an online act or are they really that out of touch with their day to day thinking?

I have a friend that used to do it until I broke him out of the habit.

Its a little of both, one of my friends “gets” street fighter, and we’ve both progressed and gotten better, gone to tournaments etc. We also have another friend who is the typical CoD player, who we’ve tried to get into SF, but just doesn’t have the mentality of practicing, adapting, and taking losses as learning experiences or motivation to get better.

Such a person has the mentality of “I won because I’m better than you, or you beat me because of some lucky bullshit”. Anytime my friend loses at whatever flavor of the month shooter, he blames his teammates or something else. Its almost never because the other team was “better”.

He’s not a bad guy, or even really a scrub, he just doesn’t have the mentality of trying to see what he’s made of, and just thrives on the feeling of being a winner at something without having to put much effort in.

OrangeWizard is the same guy that claimed he was going to make a fighting game with no combos.

Not really a scrubquote but the video speaks for itself:

I know that this was all in good fun but I know that some of these people were very adamant in the removal of Seth’s U1 trap from Vanilla to Super. I was the only one to argue leaving the U1 trap in Super.

Sure, U1 trap was cheap as fuck and certain characters couldn’t escape it but it can be beaten. If beating Seth’s U1 trap meant that you had to counterpick with a character who could fight/escape Seth’s U1 trap, then that’s what you gotta do. Or just play smarter and don’t get caught.

Theres a thread somewhere on gamefaqs about it. You had a button for your left and right arms and legs. You apparently would only be able to block a move from a left arm with your button that corresponded with your left arm. The same for every other move.
Some silly shit. Found one of the threads where he talks about it.

Oh god…don’t remind me.
I saw that thread and I just shook my head.

That actually sounds fun.

Never mind.

Fighting game with no combos = UFC Undisputed / Fight Night?

dis da game he wants

I’m going to make this anonymous just because we’ve all been there at some point:

"
I only care if the character has proper tools for taking on opponents. I’m honestly surprised more people DON’T use Cody because he has all the tools a Ryu, Ken and Akuma player have:
A projectile attack that can be charged, goes fast, and can be faked, has TWO anti airs (Criminal Upper and H ruffian kick), his L and M ruffian kicks cover good ground, and has the zonk knuckle for surprise attacks!
Statistically speaking, Cody is BETTER than Ryu, Ken and Akuma!"

HAHA The people saying MSH and MVC1 weren’t broken like MVC3.
edit: A guy comparing the quantity of UMVC3 videos to MVC1. Oh god, HAHA.

They are in for QUITE the rude awakening come September.

I don’t get why this is scrubby? Short-sighted – perhaps even wrong – but he’s just justifying why he thinks Cody is good.

Looking back on it I thought it was silly and came across this page around the same time. I don’t really think things through often.

Apparently the guy who compared it to MVC3 deleted his channel? The hell. HA.

MvCO isn’t even out and already we have scrubquotes for MSH on GameFAQs.

Just about all of the comments below the video is a scrub quote -

The second one is sarcasm… that falls flat.

Yes. I’ve recently ran into a few like that during a 4th of July event in near Frankfurt Germany at a CVS2 tournament. Quite a few of them REALLY hated my Sakura and Rock. This was the PS2 version… and there is this thing where you cancel rolls into special moves… Hm…
