Very good film (except the song and dance with the first ex, they used big titties and shark teeth to counter the corniness at the end of that first fight). I’m sure there will be a lot of insecure male haters. The film felt extremely creative and original, i can’t think of any other recent films that match that. Well maybe Sin City but that might be a bit far. I’ve never read the books and i probably won’t. I’m judging it on a cinematic experience.
Gonna watch the movie tomorrow evening.
Been playing the game too and its fun as hell. Just got one question about Mr. Chou. Do you see him randomly in a stage or on the world map?
Randomly on the world map.
just saw the movie. i really enjoyed it. Im gunna pick up the book once they release a trade. read it then watch the movie again. Beat the game last night. thought it was awesome and cant wait to get 4 ppl together to play
The series is already in trade format, 6 volumes.
i was laughing the whole time, this shit was so good. if you’re an 80s baby who grew up on videogames, you’ll love it. 8-bit universal theme = win
i might check out the comics now
Some spoilers here I guess but who cares:
So I saw the movie tonight. I enjoyed it for the most part but I do agree that the pacing was a bit too rushed. They followed the books well in the beginnings but after the fight with Todd, it just felt like one boss after another after another with no real back story, while in the books, there was extremely long periods and plot development between each ex. Also a lot more went into each of the exes in the books, especially the twins and the ninja chick (whom they didn’t even say was a ninja in the movie =/). I woulda liked to see the fight with knives dad, the REAL knives vs ramona fight in the library, japanese twins actually having lines and being robot masters instead of DJs, and quite a few other things. I guess they were really rushed for time though. Also was disappointed with the loss of some of the funnier jokes. Where was the mythril skateboard!?
Also I didn’t particularly like the ending sequence… Gideon had a lot more impact in the books. He just seemed kinda nerdy in the movie.
Overall I liked it though. For everyone that enjoyed the movie, PLEASE read the books, they’re 2x as good and has a lot more development and humor.
Oh and… was I the only one that liked Knives way better than Ramona, looks and personality wise? Who cares if she’s in high school lol
You’re actually the only one in here complaining about society. I think the only thing the results go to show is that Scott Pilgrim catered to a very niche audience but that particular audience took a lot more from the movie than people that watched the other three would. I’m pretty sure I’ll remember this movie a few years down the line but I really doubt those other three would have any impact on me at all. It’s too bad more people can’t appreciate it but hey… you pretty much had to be 25 or younger to even get all the references in this movie.
Is it just me, or is the a huge difference between hipsters and videogame/anime nerds?
so is the game only available for PSN? cause if so that sucks.
yeah it is pretty sad that this movie kinda shit all over Tekken in the fighting department.
XBL release date is the 25th IIRC, so yes both systems.
damn I want a stephen stills av. with a cute shaggy beard
The game will be on 360 in like 2 weeks
Kim was super cute in the movie. Even tho they tried to make her ugly
So hard. She looked like a damn dude.
It’s coming to xbox on the 25th.
She had a tom boy look but she was still cute. I have a thing for girls with red hair and frickles. Look up pics of the actress ( aillson pill)

where can i read the comics??
There’s a trade availble. Go buy it
So far the Brian’s Pilgrim franchise is shaping up to be nothing but positive for me. I thought the books were charming (I read a lot of indie books and his series was amoung the best, some other authors are way to emo).
The game available for DLC is a big 10/10 the music, the gameplay, the constant nostalgia and art direction were all top notch.
Finally, the movie was epic as they come and it felt like a moving graphic novel and anyone on this board can appreciate all the fighting game references. Perhaps it’s because I from snowy Canada but this movie was the best comic book movie yet (next to Sin City) and I think the franchise had a pretty successful run!
