Kyabetsu just played at GodsGarden, and he did pretty good, not great.
Gosho (aka., Sweat Sweat, Oogosho) and Kyabetsu are both top level KOF playes and former SBO winners in KOF games.
No one’s heard of Gosho before because there are like 0 videos of him on youtube and he isn’t in the top 50 BP scorers.
Itazan came to Singapore, I asked him who the top Rufus in Tokyo was and he replied “Gosho” and I was like “Who’s Gosho?”, which is funny considering that I’ve been a fan of his since he broke top 8 for KOF 98UM in SBO 2008 without using Krauser (only top 8 player to do so).
He won both of those wins. (Dan lost to Ojisanboy)
There are probably lots of Japanese people we haven’t heard of though, in like the top 16.
Just because they aren’t Daigo, Mago, Nemo, or Momochi, doesn’t meant they aren’t good, and aren’t capable of winning
It’s probably safe to say that most of these teams at any given day, can beat one another.
same here
Im so upset that momochi is out so soon ;(
Do they play the finals right away, or later on?
Later, like 3-4 hours from now.
this is the type of tournament (single elim, 1 match) where foreign teams could have done some damage.
that said, for 2v2 i wouldve liked to see a loser’s/winner’s bracket
Either way, it’s safe to say that while no one in Japan is godlike invincible (as we have seen with Daigo and Nemo falling off the brackets), the discrepancy between Japan and US in terms of the current skill level of the game are evident. However, like several people have said, this discrepancy isn’t as horrible as others may think. The top people in Japan according to the BP rankings aren’t 95% win godlike heroes, but still around 70% win percentages. Here in America, someone like Justin’s 95% win ratio is deflated compared to the Japanese win percentages, but it doesn’t mean any of them are invincible and they can lose any given day.
And just because we hear about no-namers making strides in Japan, don’t consider them Japanese Scrubs because you’ve never heard of them. Chances are that if you lived in Japan, you would well know their name, much like how EVO had its fair share of new namers that shocked and hyped the scene.
Although USA has dropped out of the tourney (Gah, I was all pumped from the hype yesterday too T_T Too bad it had to end like this), this will still shape up to be one hell of a tournament and be noteworthy to watch.
inb4 “u weaboo ***” comments.
Just giving respect to the Japanese players, for they earned it. However, us American players equally deserve an amount of respect that we haven’t seen given yet, most likely because the rest of the world probably doesn’t see any reason (or any results) to why they should respect our scene yet.
AHAH
Both team than defeat us team just lose after…
I heard that Jwong win the 2 match but they have to restart because he was not using is original character.
Oh no that bull shit, this time no excuse to lose at first round…
Daigo team mago team or iyo team. I will be surprise if it s not one of this 3 team that make it.
final daigo mago will change us…
LVN2RN
how many years US get eliminated 1st match at 3s SBO?
you americans always said same excuse.
you should learn to try in rule of tournaments.
Awesome, finally got a thread goin for it
iyo and shiro should have this. based on iyo’s form at the 5v5 he’s going to be very hard to beat.
oh man I wish there was a stream D:
Hopefully, I don’t like Mago very much.
Why?
I don’t like Sagat very much. Mago ain’t do anything to make me dislike him besides use him lol.
Adorable :lovin:
