Hotel information.
As promised here is the hotel information. If you have been keeping tabs on this thread, then you know the horrible problems we have been having, due to the fact that we are being forced out of our building.
I would have had the information up on Saturday, but as ironic as this may be, I was snowed in a hotel all weekend, the same hotel I have listed below.
I have been doing my best to relocate TGA before Tougeki so that we could do everything with the benefits of the new building. However, 40 locations, and lots of muffins, later, we had no place to go, every single location had fallen through. Because of this, I waited as long as I could to post hotel info. I didn’t want someone traveling further than they had to, even if it was only 5 minutes.
However, after I received information that people had already booked flights, several months ago, I made the decision to keep the event in Woonsocket. Having made this decision, I was put in a very difficult position to make the near impossible happen. Find the most comfortable spot for everyone, within the laws and time limits allowed. The convenience of the entrants has always been paramount. Just remember that our current location is the official address, and it hasn’t changed.
I understand why Mark is upset and I’m not going to say that he doesn’t have to be. Just keep in mind that the following has not changed:
The event is still at TGA, in Woonsocket (nothing has been posted to the contrary)

If the location changes, the new location and our current location will be within 5 minutes driving distance of each other.
The event will still be taking place on March 4th and 5th
The same rules are in place.
As for times, plan on starting at 10 am and ending around midnight on both days.
So please don’t anyone panic and start jumping to conclusions. As stated on the waiver form,it says to watch the website for more details.
As it stands now, because of license requirements, it appears that the tournament will be held at the current TGA location, we have plans to rent out 2 additional rooms to allow for side tournaments. The contract for the extra rooms has already been arranged verbally with the owner, I am just waiting for confirmation on paper before I make it official.
If by some miracle we are able to get approval for our new location* (which is also in Woonsocket) before the tournament, then just switch the times and distances to the hotels below. Our current location is near the Woonsocket Motor Inn. If we move before the tournament, then we will be across the street from the Holiday Inn. I highly doubt we will move before the event, but stranger things have happened in the past 6 months, and 40 locations we’ve looked into.
As far as hotels go, The Woonsocket Motor Inn is approximately half the price of the Holiday Inn Express. The Woonsocket Motor Inn’s owner is aware of our event and has reserved 15 rooms, with 2 beds per room, for SBO bookings. Multiple people can share a room,cutting the cost per person.

*I had a meeting with the owner of our new location (which is near the Holiday Inn) and put a deposit down. I’m running around in circles trying to get the plans finalized before the end of March, so we can have a better location. Again, I will do my best to make this event more enjoyable for everyone.
The reason I didn’t committ 100% to the current TGA location, and call it a day, is because it is small and cramped. I wanted everyone here to be comfortable.
