I’ve read the last 3 pages of this thread and from what I have gathered it would be in the best interest that Empire Arcadia find another gamer who fill the spot for what would have been Pyrolee. If the executives of Super Battle Opera and the organizers are still reading this thread I would like you to please take into consideration that not all American’s are so arrogant and crass. Should Justin Wong and Ricky Ortiz who are members of Empire Arcadia qualify and set the start of Team Empire Arcadia for the second year in a row to compete at SBO later in 2006, we will not accept Pyrolee on the team. We rather a noob be trained by Empire Arcadia members and respectfully compete and represent America in a loss than to harbor a person who lacks humility and misrepresents what American Gamers are about.
I ask that you please view the actions of the individual as what it is…an individual. Thank you for your time.
Unfortunately we will not be doing the DR Quals, mostly because we don’t have Tekken, however I am looking into that for next year.
I would love to finally get Tekken to round out our lineup, but that’s another discussion for another day.
Since we are now running three tournaments, we were considering charging three dollars extra per second or thrid tournament, just to cover the extra costs, which considering the extra chances for the players is still fair I think. However, maybe just to make it easier to manage and inexpensive for the players, I’d like to round it down to $25 for all three. I will discuss the costs with the staff and see what we can come up with.
If you miss the first tournament, no worries you can still compete in the second, but keep in mind that your character choice will be limited by 1. We prefer that you register in advance so we know you are coming. Once the Waiver forms go up February 1st, everything will be finalized, including discount hotel info and official registrations will begin. I am trying to get the cheapest rates for everyone still, I will let everyone know.
I agree with TFGM’s comments on Pyrolee, but I disagree with what he said about the third member: I’m fairly sure that it probably won’t be a member of Empire Arcadia who will qualify. The only other member of the Empire besides Justin/Ricky who is good at 3s is Flash, and we haven’t really heard from him in a while, and not even sure if he’s in the running.
More likely the third winner will be someone like Kofiend or somebody else like Henry Cen, or maybe even a totally random player. I know Justin and Ricky and I know they will NOT be elitist and isolate this winner from their team, because they’re not like that. So I encourage EVERYONE from the lowliest scrub to the greatest contender to show up at this tournament and try your best…it’s not team Empire, it’s team EAST FUCKING COAST! WOOOO!
Everyone’s talking about Pyrolee not going to EC… How come I don’t hear Justin Wong and Ricky Ortiz going over to WC to compete for the dream team spot?? I guess everyone overlooked that too…
Is Canada not coming? I ask because everyone is guaranteeing Justin and Ricky a spot when the Canadians smashed them at T6 (was it?) and Canadians are allowed to enter this year. It’d be hilarious if they took top 2 or even 3 and then we couldn’t even call it team USA, much less Team EA.
Its not like that Phil. We just want to name it because we are going back as a returning team. Ricky and I made it the first time so we want to continue as that. Besides its only if Ricky and I qualify and get on the same team. Then it is only fair that we pick the name by vote. Its going to be 2-1. Its a 99% chance that it is going to be Team Empire Arcadia anyway.
Flash is getting back into 3rd Strike anyway. That’s who we wanted on the team to begin with. I thought about Pyro, but then I said well only if Flash doesn’t want to qualify. I agree with you and Triforce, I don’t like arrogant people on the same team I’m on anyway.
Besides the West Coast didn’t call their team “Team West Coast” they called it “Divine Rapier” so why we can’t be Empire? I’ve been Empire for 3 years now. As far as it stands, we are two teams representing America. Thats two chances America gets at the finals in SBO.
i understand BOTH point of views on the whole “naming the team” thing…
personally i don’t care, if the 3 winners want that to be their name then so be it, if “team empire” wins all 3 i don’t see a reason why they can’t use the name.
I would perfer somthing like “Team Empire Of USEAST” But i dunno if there are any empire members on the other coast so i dunno if that makes sense…

i think somebody already posted this during that crazy flame spam earlier, but i got the impression that nobody [that matters (this isn’t intended to offend anyone, i promise)] really cares what the team names are. when our teams are in japan, they’ll be looked at as “the americans” and nothing more.
Wanna know why. Because Pyrolee asked me if he can JOIN MY TEAM. I didnt ask. He PM me. I was going to Rhode Island REGARDLESS. So make sure you get your sources right.
Who from TX is going? I was thinking about taking a vacation in NY for a few days then showing up in RI… not that I plan to win anything other than some rumble fish 2 casuals at CF.
