I think you could probably do almost as well in most matchups with Sean instead of Hugo, it’s just… why would you pick up Sean? They’re both crappy characters, but one of them is unique, so he gets more play.
Still doesn’t go anywhere in tournaments, though. I really think we’ll never see another Hugo player in something like SBO ever again, and if we do it’ll be because his teammates prop him up.

That’s probably true, but Hugo is a beefy mofo who pimps out Poison.

Sadly no. I’m wondering if its worth checking out the ghost town that is FFA this weekend.
Yo why is everyone saying this is the last SBO with Third Strike? Where is the proof I need proof.
I haven’t heard that this is the last SBO, I’ve heard from places this may be the last year for Third Strike, but last SBO? I’ve not heard that.

Dont they say that every year?
I think it will endure because of current popularity, though it has shifted to the “old game” day last SBO (or maybe before that?) thought of in the likes of Super Turbo while Guilty Gear and Arcana were though of as “New”. I remains to be seen, but with BlazBlue, King of Fighters XII and Street Fighter 4 probably all going to be in contention for next SBO it may squeeze something out. Who knows what though. Since you already know Tekken 6 and Virtua Fighter (whatever revision they are on by then) shall more than likely be in since they’ve gone to grouping games by type. (Old, New, 3D.)
I know. The world will be a much darker place if 3s is replaced by SFIV because it’s “new”. Get rid of turbo but not 3s.

Aren’t both ST and 3s still alive and thriving? I don’t see any reason for them to remove either games at this point. Heck, it seems like 3s has grown if anything these past couple of years.

it has and they will screw themselves over if they take out something as EXTREMELY competative as 3s or ST…with top players still coming and going in those games they will never leave…besides sf4 just came out…im sure theyre not gonna make the same mistake again as they did with capcom fighting evolution

wont they just remove king of fighters for sf4 then have like a whole “street fighter day” thing? st,3s,sf4

it all comes down to competition if theres no scene for SF IV then there wont be a tournament, and if there is a tournament and the scene is just lousy, the dvd’s wont sell, so its up to the thousands of 3s player to keep playing 3s, which is very likely, dont worry 3s isnt going anywhere
That is a promblem some games have to go because there alot of games coming in like Tekken6,King of Fighters XII,SF4,BLAZBLUE. Third cant go though isnt it the most hype game at SBO or am I just bias?

It would be a crime to see just 1 tournaments worth of footage of Kuroda’s Gouki
SBO unlike many tournaments is also in the business of pushing new games, because of the various business ties it has. It’s why there is always new games being put in (Capcom Fighting Jam, Arcana Heart) etc. Don’t expect it to ever become an all Capcom event. Also, consider that 3S and ST already have their own tournaments outside of SBO. SBO will put in new games and it’s all but guaranteed that BlazBlue and Street Fighter 4 get a shot. I think 3S stays in another year, and BlazBlue makes it in (unless KoFXII gets really popular.) along with Street Fighter 4. I think they drop Arcana to make room.
Also I entirely forgot that you also have to look at Capcom vs Tatsunoko perhaps getting a spot.
SBO has always been competition and pushing newer games, so it’ll be interesting for sure to see how they play it.
For now, I’m just rooting for foreign teams to make a dent this year! Well, and I’m still hoping for a live feed…
