Hav, I’d just like to say that you make very good points, and I’ve said many pages ago that I understand the host’s desire to want to make a profit selling the DVDs. They’re doing a lot, they deserve to get some kind of cash back. It sucks I won’t be able to see Daigo vs Wong live, but I still get to see this ridiculously hype tournament free of charge, and it should be rather amazing :slight_smile:

However, I’d just like to let you know that it’s not what you say, but how you say it. You can tell someone they’re misinformed/ignorant in a polite, civilized way, or you can say it in a standoffish/arrogrant tone. Which would you rather listen to if you were the receiver of this lesson you’re giving? It’s clear you’re a smart guy and have done a lot for the communtiy, but you rub people the wrong way dude. I don’t believe in coming off as an asshole just because you have enough background in the topic at hand to get away with doing so. I used to be like that, and it’s just not the way to go most of the time. Telling people they don’t matter and all that stuff is simply insulting and uncalled for.

I show respect where respect is due. I have no respect for people that go through life with an air of entitlement. People who feel justified in making demands of, and slandering those that are actually going out of their way to do things for the community at large are not deserving of respect.

I mean… I was actually arguing with a guy calling himself cheeseburger. This guy is bitching about not being able to see the main event on the stream, how somehow he’s entitled to see this event. It’s not his fault that he can’t make it to the event; he has other plans for the day… Blah, blah, blah… then he has the nerve to actually post up that he lives in Columbus, Ohio. I’m supposed to show him respect? His entire platform, basically, is that he wants to see everything for free, and if he can’t, the organizers are fucking up.

No. I’m not gonna respect that. If you have the time to watch the stream, and you live in Columbus, OH, then you have time to go to the event. The only difference is that you have to pay to enter the venue.

That guy is not coming from a position of respect. He’s coming from the position that his time, his efforts, his money is more important than those of the organizers, who would probably like to not take a huge loss on their time, their efforts, and their money. He shows a complete lack of respect and understanding from his position. I respond to that, with a lack of respect.

It’s just that simple.

You have your opinion of my position. You stated it from a respectful place, as such, I respond respectfully. The golden rule has always been to treat people how you wish to be treated. If you act respectfully, I will address you with respect. If you don’t… well, I might not. Thanks man for the support because WE the (tournament organizers) do it for the players. They may not post a lot but i’m sure they read everything. Stuff like this arguement over the stream the main event makes people feel like they aren’t appreciated with their efforts to keep the community alive and kicking! I advise everyone that attends sb4 to thank fugee and chris for running a great event every year. This shit ain’t easy man! :sweat:

My thing is this. Fugee and G could Not STREAM ANYTHING this weekend! This streaming fad just hit our communty this past year. Before you had to keep refreshing your computer and check the results threads as someone with a cell phone posted results! Or people got on the capcom players favorite chat service (which won’t say what sevice we use because I don’t want the random noobs in that chat room spreading hate) and get result’s that way. Be glad/happy that SB4 will be streamed period.

I will also add this because I think it’s another major reason why og heads are attacking the people with hate comments towards SB4 over this issue. Our community is a tight knit community. A LOT of the players that travel to these events get to know the event organizers. Friendships are forged and it started through this hobby we enjoy to compete in against each other. So much that people become good friends over the years. People like hav has run his own tournaments and helped out at past SB tournaments and other tournaments across the nation.

He’s not some random spouting off at the mouth about something they don’t understand. He is prolly pissed because ya’ll are bad mouthing sb4 over some dumb shit. A lot of you guys are pissing me off because fugee is my boy on a personal level. We talk about other shit besides games when we do talk on the phone, so I take this bash SB4 for not streaming the main event (Daigo vs Justin 1st to 10) personally!

They are not saying fuck you sir. They want you to attend or buy the dvd. This is a good marketing strategy for the event imo. Why shouldn’t they profit off of their hard labor putting this event together and running it with no major sponsership??? I think others know chris and fugee on a personal level also so of course you are going to get your ass chewed out for bashing a great tournament organizer and a friend of ours! I feel it’s mad disrespectful to imply that the SB4 staff is money hungry and they might not have said it but I will.
