Anyone one to pick me up in GA and drop me off in OH?:xeye:
this is how you know you lost an internet argument
No, they won’t. See, our community has more honor than that and no cameras, other than approved ones are allowed to record the match. SO, if you DO get to see it, it’ll be of garbage quality and seen by garbage people.
All i am saying is that if Evo was free to watch which is the biggest tournament in the world i dont see why people should pay to watch this event that is not even near as big as Evo, you acting like you guys are trowing a massive music event with top world djs…
lol kyo accumulated that red bar with a quickness
Hehehe Amen brotha!
You know come to think of it this is true. Did Justin vs Yipes FT7 from last year’s main event ever make it to the Internet? I know the 3 Way Dance did but I can’t recall ever seeing Justin vs Yipes (aside from live obviously).
I’m glad you figured it out.
Oh and nothing this big happened at Evo. Otherwise you wouldn’t be complaining in the first place.
Stop making my join year look bad. /sarcasm
Look at the big picture. Like it was mentioned before, streaming has only become a semi-routine concept recently. I’m new to the community and this is still glaringly apparent to me. Just because EVO was streamed doesn’t mean that every other tournament, hype event or no, will be streamed for your viewing pleasure. We should be thankful that people like Seb, ski and other are willing to even go through the trouble to stream it for those of us who can’t make to these.
If that’s too hard to understand…
**Live stream is a privilege.
DVD will be sold later if you really want to watch it that bed.
God forbid this helps them recover some of their revenue or GASP maybe make some money for all their time and effort.**
I feel like you’re painting a beautiful picture of the Mona Lisa and neglecting to put the breasts on. trollan people harder than balloon kid.
Bet you didn’t know about SBO’s existance around the same time SB3 was held last year.
I am not complaining because i am actually going, and no this will never be as big as Evo :china:
You really think so? I kind of figured Justin vs Daigo at EVO was pretty big (i know i was the edge of my seat), considering the Gamestop thing. It almost seems like Round 3 of the rivalry.
Oh look, news coverage:

I don’t remember anyone saying it was… And were you AT EVO? I was. Who are you again? Oh, just someone else that started playing when IV came out? Please go away.
And, it just so happens, this tournament will only get bigger and bigger. It’s more hype EVERY YEAR! Think about it: SB is in Columbus, Oh and EVO is in Vegas. Easier and cheaper for more people South West and West coast players to get there. Look at the EVO entrants, and you’ll find a trend there. If SB continues the way it is it’ll have the South East and All of East coast similar to the way EVO does for the West.
I don’t know why I keep arguing with children, but here’s my last post.
Things cost money. Let’s break it down.
The venue, MoMo’s, is rather large. It has karaoke, a bowling alley, food, etc. The tournament directors had to rent that place out for the weekend. The owner of MoMo’s… I don’t know the guy, but I’m sure he’s not willing to take a complete loss for the weekend, and just let us have it for 3 days. Chances are (as in 100% chance) Fugee/Ghaleon had to pay to rent the place. I don’t know how much that costs, but I’m sure it’s several thousand dollars.
Either that, or the owner is taking venue fee in some way (either a percentage, or full cut up until a certain point). Either way, if enough people don’t show, either the directors take a huge loss on the venue (assuming they paid up front) or the owner takes a huge loss on the weekend, and… well… good luck SB5 (at least at MoMo’s, which, btw, is gdlk).
$$$$
Then there’s Daigo. I don’t know the inner workings, but I somehow doubt Daigo was browsing SRK, and decided he needed to hit up Columbus, OH for Season’s Beatings. SB is gdlk, no question, but Daigo doesn’t even speak English…
So, again, chances are that the directors have paid for Daigo to come from Japan.
So, let’s add that up. Venue = $$$. Round-trip ticket from Tokyo -> Columbus = $$$
That’s $$$$$$. That’s a lot of money.
Then, these guys have to make sure there’s TV’s (and people are very particular these days… can’t just bring any old TV up in there), PS3’s, etc. That’s $$.
Now we’re up to $$$$$$$$. Damn.
We’re not even talking man-hours here, because, I’ve run a major before (not as large as this is going to be), and there is a lot of… just… work that goes into this. Lifting, moving, cleaning… it’s not easy. Heaven forbid these guys actually make a profit for all of that! :amazed:
But a profit is going to be difficult (though def not impossible) any way you look at it.
Somebody counted… there were 313 pre-regs. That’s $7825 so far in revenue. Between the venue, resources, plane tickets, and anyone else who might be getting paid for services this weekend, who am I, or anyone else, to know that that’s even going to cover costs? Add in a DVD that will sell a few copies… sure… Who says THAT covers costs?
And what if all this cost the directors 5K to pull off (prob not, but let’s just say that), and they get a few bucks back in their pocket… good shit. Thanks for throwing on a great event… because I’m sure cheeseburger couldn’t do it. You deserve something for your efforts.
And I’m done.
imma go next year… and im west coast
Not at all, had the arcade in my area since september last year
^^^^^^^^^^
Read that a few times before posting more nonsense.
I think you’re missing the point here…
