SB4: NEW CRACK CITY- DAIGO VS. JUSTIN! Oct. 16-18, 2009 - Columbus, OH

It’s improved somewhat over an hour ago to be fair.

Ive been on a black screen for the last 20 mins. =(

He didn’t make it out of pools. The 2 qualifiers from his pool if I remember correctly were LI Joe and Demon Hyo.

Refresh everytime you get a blackscreen~ Its tiresome but from my experience, the black screen never does fix itself…

So basically, you know more than Arturo who has as much experience in American SF4 as anyone and just spent months in Japan playing their absolute best and whose main lesson from his trip is that we are behind but not that far behind and that any great player can beat any other great player on any given day? Oh ok.

It bears mentioning that Daigo is ONE player and Justin is also ONE player. Until the top 25 American players go to Japan and play the top 100 or whatever Japanese players in Japan day after day for a couple of months, it doesn’t even make sense to make any comparison IMO. Totally different styles, environments, etc. I mean shit, a bunch of players not named Wong or Valle or Sanchez or Ma pushed Daigo really hard in the the team tourney… Does that mean that Daigo is mediocre because he looked vulnerable against lesser known (although not necessarily weaker) American players? Hell no.

I am going to hypothesize that 95% of the people who are so quick to judge/hate on players have never followed sports very seriously, let alone played a sport at a high level. It’s like the moronic fans who look at the first weekend’s college football results and think they can predict the rest of the season. If you have that kind of scrubby/immature mindset, you either haven’t followed the sport very long or you are just a tool and/or are affected by a learning disability because it clearly doesn’t work that way.

One quick note RE: jewelman’s “more than just an online player” comment… I do think that over time people are going to realize that online training is a very powerful tool and not simply scrubland. I’m not about to say that beating someone in a three bar connection means much, but Wolfkrone does train a lot online and Vegita-X recently blew off a New Orleans ranbat saying that he would get more out of spending that time playing online. They are both in the top 16 in SF4. Of course nothing can replace tourney experience and offline play with the best, but it is 100% possible to reach a very high level of play even if most of your training is online IMO, as long as most of the games are 4-5 bars and you make sure to play the best people as often as you can. This will become even more true as time goes on and netcodes/Internet speed increases. Note this isn’t directed at jewelman but is simply an observation about online training.

Alright ill try it out. Its just teasing me now…came back right when Daigo was about to fight and died again before it started.

What happened to the Blazblue top 8?

SF4 after mvc2? Also has anybody recorded the 3s stream?:china:

Ahhh, fuck. NM

the stream seems worse today than yesterday sadness

No, all it means is that Daigo is not accustomed to the different metagame enforced by American play, and in the end this metagame is overall not as strong as Japan’s. Also, keep in mind that Daigo’s Japanese opponents know pretty much everything there is to know about the game and can execute those things at will…Whereas in American play, he has to find out what his opponents know and don’t know and has to take into account players not executing things that they want to execute.

Your comparison about some guy comparing the first week of college football results is flawed because we aren’t just looking at the final scores to judge which country is better in SF4(or any other game).

And yeah, it’s as Jimmy said, one of the big things is execution - even if many american players get an opening, they can’t take advantage of it and end up botching their combo/counter…They are trying so hard to actually create an opening that once they get it, they aren’t even ready to capitalize.

Whoever replaced the music on MvC2 is a genius.

I can’t believe admins actually care about what people in the stream think.

Seriously, you shouldn’t be reading a single word. You’re letting a bunch of fast trolls get under your skin way too much.

i agree, i waited half my day for marvel and they took it down? fucking bullshit
