The stick is a Myoungshin Fana, so you shouldn’t have to change it. But according to laugh in another thread sometimes the Fanta it comes with sucks.

It is kind of like the HRAP, where the stick comes stock with what you want, but the buttons should be changed. The buttons used on an SPS-1000 and SPS-3000 are different. I had a 3000 before and the buttons weren’t very good, but the Crown buttons most people use fit perfectly in there.

There is no tutorial that I’ve seen on SRK, but the buttons are soldered onto the PCB. So after a little desoldering it should be a similar mod to the T5 stick. Just keep in mind the snap-in/screw-in Crown buttons do not have tab to stick a disconnect on. So soldering of some kind is a must.

Thanks for your reply. I’m not buying 1000 or 3000 but 4K for PS3 'cause I use it mainly for T5DR and 2D scene is dead in here. I got HRAP but on the latest tournament, I’ve found an interest in Korean-style stick.

I guess screw-in are better than snap-in and while I have to solder, it’s better to get screw-ins right?

About the stick itself, it comes with different sticks? Sometimes with let’s say A which is good, and sometimes with B which sucks?

I can answer those for you if you don’t mind.

The screw-in buttons are also snap-in buttons, that’s what he meant. There’re snap-in only buttons made by Crown that also fits and is just as good as the screw/snap-in buttons, and these have two prongs on the bottom of the button for QDs and soldering onto PCBs. The prongs aren’t in the same place as the stock Saulabi buttons so you can’t just swap it in and solder into the Saulabi PCB, so that’s primarily why I haven’t recommended these buttons for Saulabi sticks yet, although these buttons are really good.

I’ll get a used Saulabi myself just to mod it with high quality authentic Korean parts so that I’ll know what it’s like.

About the stick, yes, you’re partially right about Saulabis having different sticks sometimes. They’ve recently started making Saulabis with leaf switch sticks (which SUCK, btw. I hate whoever invented leaf switches. I guess you can call this Stick A), but they’ve been making Saulabis with Stock Myoungshin Fanta sticks (Stick B, and these are luck of the draw. You get a good one sometimes and a bad one sometimes) for a long ass time so you’re bound to bump into these. Easiest way to tell if you have a Fanta or a leaf switch stick is by simply rotating the stick. If you hear clicky noises, it’s a Fanta, if it’s silent, it’s a leaf switch stick.

Do you find the other stick really unusable? The most important motion for me is f,N,d,d/f,N,f… If you know any guide for Korean-type sticks or whichever guide for Saulabi sticks, then I’m too happy

And the bad/wrong stick “draw-luck” is also present into 4K stick or just in the 1000/3000 sticks?

They have to be replaced pretty often from what I hear. Plus it may just be me but I prefer feeling and hearing the click of the microswitch.

The Fanta stick is a lot more similar to a Happ Super than any Sanwa. It has the same round actuator and microswitches with tabs. It still feels pretty different though because it uses a piece of rubber instead of a spring.

Not to steal business from laugh but honestly if you live in the US and just want 1 Fanta stick and don’t care that it’s slightly used I would buy it from me. laugh is awesome but from my experience buying from him shipping from Korea is pretty killer.

Does anyone know if there’s a way to use this as a gamecube(wii) controller? Some sort of adapter?
