You know after my post this afternoon I felt bad not offering a ride (at least for some of you to alleviate your problems). I figured at least offer and that way everyone wins. Of course then I see posts like this and I wonder why I even bother.

Teddy; I don’t know how well you RC but if you know how then integrate it into your defense with Sonic Booms. As for your Cammy and Blanka issue, I completely disagree with Eric. Considering the priority of those two characters over Guile, I suggest strong offense rather than defense. Good pressure (s.hk, s.hp, c.mk) mixed with Sonic Booms to hold them down along with learning when people want to roll and/or jump (that’s a big thing because your throwing comes into play and we know how much I like those) will make all the difference in a fight with Cammy and Blanka. Everytime i try to get in, i get hit by a slide or spiral arrow before i can even get close…and a jumpin results in getting anti-airs to the face.

i’m no cvs2 expert, but a good counter to RC is RC. Blanka problems? rc SB cammy problems rc FK. you win!

Guile vs Blanka/Cammy

I think that Guile can hold his own easily against blanka if you can RC well, and supposedly Guile counters Cammy according to Ricky Ortiz (I witnessed this with my own eyes).

Guile’s standing mp will kill normal jumping blanka for free from almost any distance (aside from a cross up). He can punish blanka balls with a level three sonic hurricane, backfist, or HK. Guiles crouching HP has shit loads of priority!!! If you throw out a random c.Hp and blanka goes to punch it with his HP he will hit the side of you and get hit like 80% of the time. Then from there you can mix it up using the c.Hp and flash kick when you see blanka slide in. To make a long story short a good guile can beat blanka easily. Versus cammy is a whole different story. You cant throw out a shit load of sonic booms because her cannon drill goes under it even if you RC it hits you most of the time except for the odd time she is right next to you and does it but only a fucking scrub would do that. C.mp can stuff her cannon drills, and so can c.lp. C.HP and beat her dive kick occasionally, and his s.mp works fairly well as an anti air. Fuck I should of used Guile in the tourney instead of A groove I probably would of done alot better haha, but I only have two solid c groove characters (guile, sagat).

Not really. You just respect Roger’s opinion over Hayvren’s. Which is rediculous since you play guile yourself. You should of known that (Guile can hold his own with RC’s vs blanka easily) already since you took your tricks from Roger. Just because Hayvren said it differently, the general idea is the same.

Reluctant as I am to enter into any kind of back and forth with you I’ll field this one.

That’s exactly what Havren wrote. There’s a stark difference between what he wrote and Roger’s breakdown above. Havren gave two specific examples of what circumstances ask for certain RC responses. In both cases the responses wouldn’t be appropriate. Guile’s RC Sonic Boom is primarily used as an AA or a means to keep linking a combo without being punished by a poke. As for the latter usage, I don’t think I know anyone either local like Roger or Kam or even on videos from Japan where people use RC Flash Kick. There are far more reliable AA’s and there are better ways to fight off Cannon Drill because no one would use Cannon Drill that close (you’d just block and punish) that you’d want to punish with RC Flash Kick.

Well I dont even play guile but mine is the best.

Also im sure i remember Roger doing RC flashkicks before :slight_smile:
