yea if we could get something worked out that would be awesome. I STILL havent been to a tourny lol. The only one that i was available to show up for was one last year at emtc and then the damn button broke when people were playing before we got started. Hopefully bry will be back within a month too. Also if we tell the guy that works at the arcade that were gonna have a tourny there on a specific date he could book the repair guy to come in like the day before and make sure everything is working well on all the games.
by the way i think the renting a hall thing is a good idea… but i dont think it would work out. It would be really hard to get a bunch of tvs and like u said… the number of sticks we would need could be a problem to. But if we could actually work that out im up for pitching in to that.
But if we choose to have it at EMTC then i’ll talk to the arcade guy that works there during the day. He seems to like me lol. He wanted to give me a job there but u have to be 19…:bluu: Anyways… lets try to work this out.
M3 seems like a dumb idea. People say the CvS2 machine is fine, but I went there on a lunch hour a few weeks ago and was getting random low punches and almost didnt OCV this scrub when I was trying.
Also the marvel machine is like a ticking bomb. Who knows when the fuck its gonna go. Renting a hall is a good idea but way to costly. Especially to ask people to pitch money. And even if people didnt, money would have to come out of the entry fee’s and organizer’s pocket because i doubt more then 15 - 20 people would show up. And even if there is an M3, JS will just come down and Win every game, unless Bry is allowed back in the mall to play marvel.
And I respect the idea of trying to revive the SF scene, but in all honesty its friggin dead. There is no insentive to go out and try to get better because you’re still gonna lose to the same people you’ve always lost to, like Bry in Marvel for example.
There is also the question of who would even want to come down from Toronto / scarborough to play in it.
So Nagata if you wanna run it, go ahead because I wont help this time around and I dont think Kevin will either.
Sadly I have to agree. Since Wizards decided not to care about Skybox anymore the last possible place to hold tourneys in sauga is gone. CVS2 has the autojab, 3s is just messed, and the MVC2 bomb just went off today (assist2 is broken). So if sauga sticks is still an issue then no one would come for a tourney, let alone people coming from out of town.
We should all just train up and start going to metro or orbit tournies from now on if we still want to compete.
I don’t mind running tournies, but it’s just too frustrating now when Wizards are too dumb to cooperate and other factors just add up to the frustration.
Antoine pulled out of the London trip so there’s one open spot in my car if anyone is interested. Let me know by midnight at the latest and you have to be sure you can make it and have the funds.
