SHIT speaking of poker, I almost forgot about the WORST play that had me in tears and most of us laughing for a good 10 mins.
Lessard’s random asian donkey friend, who managed to bust me out last time with 3-7, is in the BB, and Gerjay raises with Q-Q to like 30 (blinds are like 5-10). Donkey calls, and we see a flop
Flop is 3-Q-10. Donkey bets 10, gerjay raises 30, and donkey calls.
Turn is a 9. Donkey bets again (another 10), Gerjay decides to go all in, and donkey calls.
He says “Alright give me a 7” and turns over…
5-6 OFFSUIT. All of us are just dying laughing while idiot is still begging for his 7. He then tells us all he has a straight draw, and we’re too busy laughing to see it. River is a blank, and Gerjay becomes a massive chip leader and wins the damn thing.
When I read about that I was confused too but that’s cause we’re both ignoring what came on the flop…
They both had Ks and 7s…so Bry rivering a 3 didn’t make a difference. It was either a split pot depending on what came on turn or Lessard had the two pair with higher kicker with the 8.
Kind of an example of don’t muck your hand until you’re sure you lost.
Not that I’m making fun or anything…I shouldn’t talk. I’m the type of person who would make the same mistake.

yea im looking at what happened right now, and if that is indeed what went down i got screwed do to my drunkeness (i didnt know about the 7 pair on the board)… it wouda been nice for someone to say that i won instead of me losing my money… and i didnt muck my cards, when u go all in you flip ur cards over, u cant muck when uve already fliped your cards…
OK first of all this isn’t the first time you’ve screwed up as it concerns the rules and etiquette in a poker game. If you fucked up at the table, you have no one to blame but yourself. It’s not up to the rest of the players to point out your fuck up.
As for Bryan’s all in, that you have a point on. If he all in’d and you called then you’re both supposed to show your cards. House games don’t really adhere to the rules all the time but in future if you don’t want to be burned then it’s in your best interest to always see the cards. I paid the price for this a few weeks back with my mucked Kings because I thought Teddy caught a set of 5’s. Always see the cards.

You’re missing the whole point. It’s like you’ve got the scrubs perspective on poker. Just because you’re in a chill environment, doesn’t mean that you should play the game poorly. When I host a game, I do everything I can to maintain the control. I try to keep people from folding out of turn, betting out of turn, all that other crap, because that’s not how it’s supposed to be done. The only reason you were brought up is because you do this regularly and it’s been highlighted both in person and on these forums before. It doesn’t take much to learn and play poker. If you play the game right, then situations like the one brought up today won’t happen. It’s like I said, I had a colossal fuck up in my own home a few weeks back. If I’d adhered to the rules rather than getting into a slack approach of “hey do you have it?” then I would have raked a big pot instead of being crippled. Live and learn, don’t bitch about it like you have some divine point when you obviously don’t.

No I understood your point completely and what I’m saying is that it shouldn’t have to come to that. If you played the game it’s supoosed to be played, your friends wouldn’t be put in the position to cost themselves chips because of your screw up.

Then as we’re chilling gerjay and teddy come over and take the sticks away from us so you guys can have more fun at curts after not telling us about it and letting us think we were all chilling at lessards later that night. That shit will make me think twice next time people want me to do a friendly thing for them like driving them home or something. You guys honestly fucked us over completely that was the biggest snake I’ve seen in a long time and it was to your friends that try to do shit for you guys all the time. Then we get a phone call after you leaving saying we cant come to curts? You guys purely ditched up and grabbed the sticks leaving us with nothing fucking us over completely.
