Alright we’re going to settle up right here.
Adil and I made a bet back in October of 2006. Adil had to raise $300 by December 6th in order to go to NEC3. If he won, I’d give him $50 and if he couldn’t get the money, he’d owe me $25. Time passes and nothing comes of the issue. I find out that Adil didn’t have the money. So Christmas Countdown comes around and Adil is banned from Marvel until I’m paid the $25, which he refuses to give me because “he had the money I swear, you didn’t call me so wtf why should I tell you I had it.” That’s fine, we all know Adil didn’t have the money and I stick to my guns until he of course cracks.
Fast forward about a month. I’m hanging with some of the Sauga guys and I find out that not only did Adil not have my money, had asked to borrow the money from any one of his boys only for that day so he could snake me out of my $50 and split the money with whoever loaned it to him. Effectively, he tried to fraud me out of my money because “Curt can afford it.”
THAT RIGHT THERE FUCKING PISSED ME OFF
I don’t know what kind of dream world everyone lives in but where I come from, when someone tries to steal from you, you don’t take it lightly. I was furious at the time but I was tired of blowing everything up on SRK. I let the incident go and basically made a promise to myself that I wasn’t going to help this kid out in any way, shape or form from that point forward. I also made it a point that I was going to find a way to pay him back for what he’d done.
I can’t beat the shit out of him like I would most people. I can’t take money from him because quite frankly I don’t need it. I figure the easiest way is to hit him where he actually cares. So first off I refused to give him a ride to EVO East despite him legitimately coming to me first and having the funds. I didn’t have to give him a ride regardless so either way, doesn’t make a difference. Everyone thinks that when I got back his cheap shot is what got him banned. Nope… his trying to steal my money got him banned, his one liner just put it over the top.
See here’s the real kicker in all of this. The people that have been going “come on Curt, what’s your fucking problem” are fully aware of what he tried to do to me and yet somehow you’ve managed to completely overlook it just because he’s your friend. Well too fucking bad for him. Quite frankly, Adil’s lucky I didn’t put his fucking face into the wall on the first go around. He’s a scam and a fucking thief.
His ban isn’t going to be lifted and anyone that can sit there and attempt to condone his actions while attempting to get his ban lifted is scum in my book. I would never take the side of someone who tried to scam my friends out of money. I can’t see how people that I’ve stuck by, helped out, loaned money to, given countless rides to, driven on no sleep to US tournies while you all sit in the back sleeping it away, can sit there and try to tell me I’m in the wrong. You all need to get your priorities straight. That’s the last I’m going to discuss this matter in open forum or in private.
