Hey Darcius - yeah I quit playing online a long time ago, about when I moved closer to the Calgary scene. I haven’t played #R online in like 4 years but I have been playing lots of +R and KoF13 since then. Was into SF4 and marvel at various points too, but didn’t find those games strategically interesting enough to be worth pursuing. Anyway let me know on the meet up, I’ll be in town in just a couple weeks.
cough my thread, really cough
Also, ignore button is a thing that can be used as thou wish to avoid rampant trolling, guys.
Glad to see you GG peeps are hooking stuff up, have a blast. I’d love to get into that game, but I don’t even really have the time right now to play anything -_-
Losha I don’t have a problem with you so don’t make me have a problem with you. You haven’t participated enough with the actual IRL scene to have a adequate assessment of the situation. As it stands this thread has been a barren wasteland for almost 2 years. I don’t see the fatass and his equally socially inept autistic friend announcing tournaments or events…in fact I don’t see much activity at all outside that shitty UofS stuff. No one here has the initiative to start anything which is why I am once again. I already have 4 guys down for it and as I stated before if anyone is interested in coming feel free to do so. However its a SF4 event only so don’t waste our time if you main some obscure game.
edit: actually, I won’t bother.
You just do your thing.
Like I said losha I don’t have a issue with you so as long as you show me respect I have no problem showing you respect.
I like how you are just throwing out threats now.
You can call it whatever you want evan but the point is that if I’m shown with respect I have no problem being respectful. The number of people I have for these casuals is very small. There is only 4 of us including jayson and myself so the other 2 guys are brand new. All they wanna do is just play games and have fun and that’s exactly the same thing I want as well. None of use are interested in drama considering that the sask scene is barely active these days. We aren’t in a position to argue and personally I’m done with that shit…its ancient history as far as I’m concerned and right now I’d rather just have fun and actually play games again. We will be meeting up for the first time this saturday and then again next friday. There’s also a guy called Jared who said he might be interested and could potentially bring a friend so at best we might have as much as 6 people…but for the time being we have 4 confirmed.
I said beforehand that anyone is welcome to join if they are interested. The impression I get from the 2 other guys is that they are open to playing other games as well so it isn’t just a SF4 event like I said before. I would assume it will mainly be focused around SF4 or at least SF games but I’m sure it will also depend on many people go and what game people are the most interested in. I already have a FB group for all the guys going so if anyone’s interested just PM and I’ll link you.
Losha I do think it would be cool if you could show up because you’re a good player and from what I’ve seen a cool guy to be around so all BS aside I think it would be awesome if we could put our differences aside and try to make this work. I don’t know if this will be a weekly thing but I’m sure once the first set of casuals are over we will have a better idea of where this thing is going. Also evan and darcius I doubt you’ll be interested but if you wanna show up you can…just remember this isn’t about causing problems and the guy who’s hosting is very cool so I’m not gonna bring drama to his house. This is me extending an olive branch so as long as everyone know’s the rules and is fine to play by them then I think this could work out well.
Sennin don’t disrespect the players in Saskatchewan. Another dude already tried that, which is why the “scene” in Saskatoon is dead.
When Merlando and I came down there they had something like 9-10 people that actively played and attended tournaments.
In Regina we had about 8-9 people who also actively played and attended tournaments.
Some of our Injustice/MK players are on par with the best players in Canada. Others have attended tournaments and ran competitive matches with pros. We are not rookies, so don’t try to come in here with some sort of superiority complex.
Darcius reps GG. he’s always repped GG. And you know what? You might question some of the things he says online but IRL he’s a stand up dude. He’s repped Sask and won tournaments without a scene for his game.
When I hosted tournaments here in Regina, I could count on dudes like Darcius, Evan, and the others to make the trip and show up.
You don’t need to try and get them off the games they play, why not include them by having an extra setup for them to play on. Maybe they’ll teach some of your players how to play. Don’t say this isn’t feasible because we’ve often had 3 setups running in a 1 room apartment playing ST, SF4, and Injustice/MK/MVC. We had 9 players playing various different games but that didn’t stop us from anything.
If you want to “build a scene” start hosting tournaments. It’s easy to say you want people to come but sometimes people are doing their own shit and/or uncomfortable going to somebodies basement to play.
Host something public, a tournament. A well run tournament would make people respect you more than condescending veteran players for their choice in fighting games.
PS. this is not “your” thread, nobody knows who you are and you are the biggest rookie here.
Lmao dalton I’m Ric…
FYI I have no issue with setting up GG or other games but the guy who’s hosting hasn’t done something like this before and we want to start simple before it potentially develops. This is the first time in almost a year that casuals are being hosted again so we wanna do this right.
Huh? Everybody in Saskatoon who still wants to play fighting games has been playing at Mitch’s for years on an almost weekly basis. If your four people are a “scene” why aren’t our four people? lmao
I didn’t say we are a scene I just said we are doing casuals. The only way we could be a scene is if all of us joined up and organized events for a good year or so. I don’t know successful we will be but given that SFV just got announced I’m certain there will be some new interest in town…at least I think.
I just moved to Saskatoon and I want to play some SF4 and eventually SF5, but I heard some rumours about this Ric guy. Can anyone vouch for him? I was also directed to this…
Alright so we are having games this Friday 6-10 or 12.
If anyone is interested let us know.
Edit:
The set-up is PS3.
We arechaving a meet this friday specifically for ultra sf4 and hopingvwe can get a few more guys on board.it would be nice to actually play competitive and keep the personal online bull out of it.sf4 omega and sf5 are coming…finally! Lets get regina and sask together for all games not just sf but mostly sf
Im in saskatoon btw justvfor thecguys who dont know me.Jayvis the name and sf4 is my game.
It should be a good time and I’m personally excited for offline casuals again.
That is definitely SenninSRK.
Jayson, just read this and think to yourself, “should I be associating myself with this person?”
Rik dont mess with me like that.btw hes never acted like an ass inrl and is pretty good at the game.i never take anything anyone says personal on the internet.hes a sef admitted troll and has fun with it.its not my thing but I know its not really meant to hurt anyone.the guy is harmless imo
Sends numerous women rape threats. Creates a video that is at least partially responsible for the bullshit gamergate movement. But it’s all fine, after all, the precocious little scamp is just trolling. lolololol
